These censuses have his birth about 1856-7. This is commonly reported by
genealogies. I found one fairly detailed genealogy, however, that has a birth
date in 1853 for Thomas. The 1920 census record that appears to be for him
has his age as 68, which would put birth about 1852. The following genealogy
record reports him correctly as the son of George Washington Boren and Rachel
Davis. Matilda's age in the 1920 census matches the genealogy birth date of
1861.

In the 1900 Chickasaw Nation census, two children are reported born in
Arkansas, Henry in 1885 and Oscar (Ossie) in 1887. Note that the census
reports Ossie was born in Arkansas, but at age 20, it would place his birth in
1890 or 1898, not 1887. The Borens probably moved to Indian Territory via
Arkansas. I have not found any further information on their short time in
Arkansas.

Note also that William's grandchildren were born in Arkansas, between 1894 and
1902.

Notes for Roseanna BOSTWICK

In 2008, reporting information from Tucker family records, Jessie McPherson
Jenkins wrote of G W Tucker:
"He married (1) R A Bostwick. She was born abt 1854 in AR."

The name is known in Tucker family records as R A Bostwick. By late September
2010, the only public record I had found for R A Bostwick Tucker was the 1880
census, where she is reported as R A Tucker. Then I received some information
referencing additional sources.

Comment on Ancestry Tree
R A Bostwick (Bostic)
Charlotte Parker added this on 27 Sep 2010
"R.A. is my paternal gggrandmother (her first son Joe T. Parker, is my
grandfather). I have not been able to find death record or burial on her, so
this info on when George W. Tucker remarried is helpful. Her name is shown as
Roseanna Bostic in 1870 US Census ...."

The initials R A could be for Rose Ann or Rose Anna. After receiving this
message I found the Ancestry transcription of the marriage record:
Arkansas Marriages, 1851-1900
Marriage Record Book B, Page 290
G. W. Tucker
Spouse: Rosanna Parker
Marriage 28 Jun 1877 Lonoke County, AR

The 1870 census reports a daughter Roseanna Bostic, which seems to match our R
A Bostwick, with her parents in Pulaski County.

There are numerous other Bostic families in Vilonia and Cypress Townships of
Faulkner County: marriage records, censuses, and other records. These seem
to be from the same lineage as Roseanna's family. This may mean the original
spelling of their name was Bostic. It could mean the original Bostwick was
simplified to Bostic.

In 1871, Roseanna married Taylor Parker in Pulaski County, Arkansas.

years and Miss R A Bostic aged 18 years amd did declare them husband and wife.
Filed 17 Oct 1871
-- Document from the Arkansas Historical Commission, courtesy research of C
Parker, 31 July 2013, accessed 20 April 2016

In the 1880 census, R A Bostwick is reported with her second husband George
Washington Tucker. The two initials R A could have been taken by the 1880
enumerator for two names -- as we sometimes find on censuses, and in her
marriage record above -- where the original was understood by the family as
one double name.

This census record reveals that she had been married first to a man name
Parker. The oldest child in the household is J T Parker, age 5. From this
age we can estimate that Roseanna married Mr Parker about 1874. A very
interesting feature of this census entry is that R A is listed first, but the
House and Family numbers are on George's line.

Even though she is listed first, R A is Keeping House and George is a Farmer.
Neither she nor George have a designation as Head or any other relation, but
the others in the household are reported in their relation to R A, not George!

Tucker Researcher Linda Matchett reports the Parker son as Joe T Parker: "all
I have on Joe T. Parker is his birth about 1875." She provides the following
information about the two Tucker children here.

---------------------------------------------------
George & Roseanna Bostwick Tucker's children are:

1) G. Frank Tucker (I would think the G. was George, but never saw it as
such), born Mar 28 1878 in Cross Co. AR, died Aug 19 1903 in Shawnee, OK. It's
not in my notes, but I'm sure I've heard he was struck by lightning, causing
his death. He was in the 1880 census, Bedford twp, Cross Co. AR in the home of
his father George W. Tucker, shown as G. T. Tucker, age 2.

2) J. M. Tucker, born Dec 6 1879 in Cross Co. AR; in 1880 census in Bedford
twp., Cross Co., AR in home of his father, age 6 months; died as an infant.

Notes for Theobold 3rd Butler BOTILER

This Theobold (Theobald) is the son of the first Norman "Butler" of Ireland, an
office of service to the young Norman dynasty in England and Europe, expanding
and strengthening its hold on territories since the 1066 invasion of England
by William the Conqueror.

It appears that either Hervey Walter (born abt 1150) or his son Theobald (born
abt 1170) was the first FitzWalter to be given the title of Butler (Boteler,
or Botiler/Botiller) for the King of England in Ireland. This line took the
name Butler after this, though the name FitzWalter also continued in both
Ireland and England.

Dates vary considerably, and this presents some problems for the family of
Theobold 2nd Butler. Sources indicate he had three wives. Some genealogies
have only part of the information for his family, showing only the first wife,
with Theobold as the son of Joan. Others have two wives, showing Rohese as
the mother of the son Theobold who inherited the Butler responsibilities.
Birth dates don't match between sources. Some dates for Theobold 3rd Butler
would make Joan Du Marais his mother, while others have him later with Rohese
as his mother. See details in the footnotes.

I have finally followed credible, commented sources indicating Theobald was
the child of Joan Du Marais. It appears from the dates that Joan likely died
in childbirth.

One Ancestry World Tree,
http://awtc.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:2738450&id=I12934, reports
the birth date of 1223, and specifically says Joan de Marreis is his mother.
Provides details from Butler Family History. This source, however, also
reports Theobald 3rd Butler was born in Norfolk, England, rather than Arklow,
Ireland, as several other sources report.

Another old source reports that Margery de Burgh's husband Theobald 3rd Lord
Butler/Botiler died in 1248, not 1285 as the below source reports. THe latter
date is reported elsewhere as the date of death of their son Theobald 4th Lord
Butler, while the source below reports the son dying in 1321.

The following report from a World Family Tree genealogy shows the transition
and early generations of Botelers I show in my genealogy. I note that this
genealogy shows dates of birth and death from 12 to 40 years earlier than
other sources I have seen. There are also differences in the wives' names,
with the same wives' names assigned to husbands in different generations.

Notes for Theobold 4th Butler BOTILER

Theobold is also seen as Theobald. And as with the whole Boteler/Butler line
the last name is spelled in various ways: DeBotiler, leBoteler, Botiller,
etc.

Arklow is the primary Butler castle. It is located in Wicklow County.
Wicklow is one county in the Province of Leinster. Modern Leinster
incorporates the ancient kingdoms of Meath (Midhe) and Leinster.

that the place of death is reported here as Wem Oversley, Shropshire. As far
as I have been able to determine, there is no location named Oversley in
Shropshire. Oversley is a location Warwickshire, where some sources indicate
the Butlers had connections. This place of death should thus be reported as
Wem, unless we find alternative information indicating the place of death was
Oversley, Warwickshire, instead. The Peerage indicates birth and death at Wem.
