In 1910 they have moved to Nebraska, where the second son, Russell was born in

in Nebraska. This appears to be a mistake, comparing the 1900 census and
other family information. The burial information on Find a Grave does not
have the place of birth.

The petition for divorce was filed in January. But the divorce was not

went to Illinois and married Mary Foust Richardson in April 1865.

In the 1870 census it appears that John, reported as age 9, appears to be
Mary's son with her first husband named Richardson. John is older, but listed
after Lizzie, even though both were reported with the Boyd last name. In
1880, John was correctly reported as a stepson, and with the surname
Richardson. I have not learned where Robert and Lucinda's other children were
in 1870.

Note that Robert married Mary in 1865. The oldest child here is reported as
20-year-old John F Richardson, born about 1860. This confirms our surmise
from the 1870 census, that this is Mary's son from her frist marriage with
James Richardson.

I had known of the name Boyd only in relation to the Scottish sept of Butt or
Buid, related to the Stewarts. I had assumed this was the provenance of my
Uncle Russell Boyd's ancestors. But in June 2008, I learned of a prominent
Boyd line in Ireland, where they were the Lords Earl of Kilmarnock. This is
probably still a branch of the Scottish Stewart Boyds, but still new a lineage
possibility for me. Here is a link to information on one of those Boyd
families in Ireland back to the 1600s.

Rhonda and Russ never had any children. Three children of Rhonda's siblings
were named after them. The first son of Orville Lee Jenkins was Orville Boyd
(this author), and the only daughter of Arthur Carthal (Bud) Jenkins was
LaRhonda. Her sister Lahoma named her third son RIchard Boyd Hendron.

They lived in Amarillo, Texas, for years. From my earliest childhood till
Rhonda's death in 1963, this is where they were. Our family visited them at
times in Amarillo. Amarillo, in Potter County, was about a 5-hour drive west
of our home in Quanah, Hardeman County. We would also see them in family
gatherings at the home of Rhonda's father and mother, my grandparents, Joe and
Jennie Jenkins, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

looking for dead and injured. He said it was "heart breaking" work.

Boyd is in the used car business there.

I was born in Cheyenne Wyoming in 1957. My dad was Robert A Boyd Jr. He was
born in Portland Colorado in April of 1921. His dad was Robert Arthur Boyd
Sr. of course. Anyways we are related to Russell Hugh Boyd. We actually
lived in Amarillo Texas between 1958 to 1967 while Russell Hugh Boyd and
Rhonda Jenkins had lived there. I am not sure of time frame completely. I
read that Rhonda had gone to think Dallas or Houston to a city with a large
hospital....

I love the pictures of Rhonda [posted on our Connections genealogy on
Ancestry] and especially the ones in Palo Duro Canyon where my dad took us
quite a bit when we lived in Amarillo, Texas. It really kind of brings
Amarillo in to the picture not from us just living there but Russell and
Rhonda having lived there.

I had been unsuccessful in finding further details about Russell, until in
October 2010, a Boyd descendant in New Mexico, who had personally known
members of the family in Chillicothe, Missouri, sent me some details and
referred me to some new links for information just posted on Find-a-Grave.

Note the change in reported birthplace of Samuel's parents in the 1910 census.
In 1900 the records for him and his sister Hattie are the same, father born in
Kentucky, mother born in Tennessee. In 1910, both Sam's parents are reported
born in Pennsylvania.

Also Everett was reported born in Missouri, but in 1910 he is reported born in
Nebraska, where they are now living. It seems Missouri is the most likely
place of birth for Everett. They married in Missouri, then were living in New
York in 1900, then moved to Nebraska, where Russ was born.

The 1920 census provides us another creative report on the birthplaces of
Sam's parents, with the father and mother now both reported born in Missouri
as Sam was. In fact it appears he thought the whole family looked like
Missourians, except Harold, who is reported as born in Nebraska. I don't know
why the enumerator would have understood Mary Pat's name as Sarah.

Samuel's joint gravestone with his wife Mary Patricia is posted online at Find
A Grave. But the person posting this has the wrong place of death. The
obituary she has included reports he died at Lenaxa (Johnson County), Kansas,
where he was living at the time of death. Mary later died in Mission, Kansas.
They were both buried in Leopolis Cemetery in Livingston County, Missouri,
near Chillicothe, where they had lived for many years.

Notes for Jackie Dee BOYER

Jackie and Archer divorced and Jackie married again in 1972. Later discovery
of a daughter's name indicates she was about 3 years old in September 1973.
This means that Jacke and Archer wawere not divorced until after some time in
1970, when their daughter Jackie was born and before September 1971, when
Jackie Dee married Stephen.

Jackie had one daughter named Jackie from her first marriage in about 1970.
Jackie was with them in a car when they were all three killed in an accident

"The dead-all riding in one of the cars-were identified as Stephen Byron

killed was Shiela Lee Frazier, 20, Lancaster. Taken to Antelope Valley

Jackie and Stephen are buried in Lancaster, California, where the accident
occurred. but no burial or even death record has been found for Jackie. It
is possible she was recorded under the name Rousey. The article announcing
their death referred to her only as "their daughter," which led to the belief
that Jackie was the daughter of Stephen. However, the record of the first
marriage was found only some time later.

A search for a matching child under the name Rousey did turn up a matching
burial, and the Find a Grave memorial reprots that Dawn Marie Rousey is buried
next to Stephen and Jackie Spann, and has the same date of death (only the
year). This indicates the newspaper go tthe name of the daughter wrong,
repeating her mother's name.

The death informaiton was submitted ot the Find a Grave memorial for Jackie
and Stephen. Then the newly-discovered family informatoin was submitted. For
some reason, the updated cihld's name and family information were not added to
the memorial, even though Jackie's maiden name was added.

Jackie was born Jackie Dee Boyer. At age 16 she married Archer Leroy Rousey
on 07 Dec 1968 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California. They had a
daughter name Dawn Marie, born 11 May 1970. They were divorced in late 1970
or early 1971. Jackie Dee Rousey married Stephen Byron Span on 8 October
1971. Jackie and her husband and 3-year-old Dawn Marie all died in an
automobile accident in Lancaster, Los Angeles County, California, on 16
September 1973. -- Source: article in the Redlands Daily Facts newspaper,
Redlands (San Bernardino County, California), Sep 17 1973. Dawn Marie is
buried beside her mother and stepfather.

I submitted information to the memorials on Find a Grave and the updated
