Notes for William BROOKES

There are two William Brooks who were killed in the Civil War in Virginia, one
in 1864 and the other in 1861. The birth date is not known for either of
them. The one in 1864 appears to be the husband of Evelina Gregory and father
of William Gregory Brookes (as the name is spelled on his gravestone). This
William Brooks died in Winchester County, Virginia, while the one who died in
1861 is buried in Augusta, Virginia, in the Shenandoah Valley, in western
Virginia.

indicates they were lving in the same place in 1935, meaning they married some
time before 1935. Because Irene's death record shows she did not die until
1953, this means that Arnold and Irene also divorced some time before 1935.

Notes for Annette Marie BROWN

A burial is found in the Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Ethel, Arkansas Coutny,
Arkansas, that matches Annette. But on her memorial on Find a Grave, this
Annette's father is identified as Raymond R Brown. Maybe our Annette is
missing for the memorial or was not buried in Mt Pleasant. She likewise does
not appear in the The DeWitt Cemetery.

But maybe someone has erred and linked the wrong father to Annette. Raymond
Brown and his family lived in Sebastian County, near Ft Smith, while Curtis
and Christine Brown lived in Ethel or DeWitt, Arkansas, in the southeast on
the White River. Annette is buried in the cemetery at Ethel, were her parents
and other relatives are. This certainly is the Annette of Curtis and
Christine. Upon our submission of the correct link, FAG kindly corrected
Annette's memorial.
