Notes for Beulah Faye CLOWER

Her granddaughter reports her name as Beulah. Her daughter's Find-a-Grave
memorial gives her name as Faye Clower. This sems to mean her name was Beulah
Faye Clower. Her husband's memorial suggests with uncertainty his wife's name
might have been Anne. This may be an additional name, or an error.

"She [LaVonna Faye Stewart] was born July 6, 1953 to Bill and Beulah Stewart
in Enid, OK. ... My father, mother, and grandfather's (mother's father) graves
are located in Berryhill cemetary in Washburn, MO. ... I do not know what year
my Grandmother died but some time after that my grandfather moved back to
Missouri. I believe it might have been in 1988 or 1989 and we eventually
followed him, moving there in 1990 the summer between my 5th and 6th grades.
Granddad died that same summer. [But he died in Sunray, Moore County, Texas 10
July 1990]"

Notes for Emaline Ann COBB

Three sources in genealogies have her listed as Emma Ann Cobb, but her name in
the 1900 census for Montague County, Texas, has her name as Emaline. It seems
more likely that her real name was Emaline, and she commonly went by Emma.

One genealogy in Ancestry World Tree has the following information on Emaline:
Emma Ann COBB
Birth 20 JAN 1860 in Fannin County, TX
Death 13 JUL 1946 in Marlow, OK
1860 c. Fannin Co. TX Living with parents
1870 c. Fannin Co. TX Living with parents
Father Thaddeus Hiram COBB b: FEB 1834 in Calhoun, GA
Mother Effie Caroline BURKE b: 28 FEB 1837 in TN

The fact that the family are reported in Fannin County, a short time after her
birth is a good indication that she was also born in Fannin, as this genealogy
reports. We know that she was in Montague later in life, and it seems the
other two genealogies I found that report Montague County as the birth place
are wrong.

Notes for Cornie M COCHRAN

Cornie is found under the name Connie in several references. I learned only in
April 2015 that her full name was Cornelia, accounting for the comon reference
in records and family information as Cornie.

"Cornelia is one of eleven children born to David Pressly Cochran (1848-1895)
and Rosaline E Hanna (1854-1908)."
-- Jerry Lyn Robnett, Ancestry Messaging to Orville Boyd Jenkins, 17 April
2015

Cornie Cochran was the third wife of William Thomas Jones. Her last child
Levi Everett Jones was born on 12 Mar 1919. By the February 1920 census,
Cornie has died and William Thomas is reported as a widower. The census date
was actually January 1, so she died before the end of 1919. Cornie's actual
birth date, along with that of other family members, was reported to me by a
family researcher, Terry Carty, as 8 October 2019.

Notes for Etta COCHRAN

The memorial on Find a Grave for Etta Chchran reports Etta as a child of
William H and Carrie Hill Cochran, and thus a sibling of Willie,Vaughn and
Samuel T, their sons. However, no child named Etta was listed in the 1902
census, which was dated in September. Etta died in October 1908 at age 6 so
does not appear in the 1910 US census enumeration for the family.

No child named Etta, likewise, is found in the 1910 census record for this
family. But note that that census reports that Carry Cochran has had 5
children but lost 2. Etta's dates found on her burial in Lakeview Cemetery,
Marietta, Oklahoma, fits the period from the 1902 census and the 1910 census.

There is one factor to consider here. The date on the census card was 25
September 1902. But that date could represent when it was actually added to
the formal card, since it appears from some other notes with dates that the
census data was actually recorded some time in July. William's whole family,
also, was transferred from an older Choctaw enrollment card, stemming from the
earlier inclusion of Chickasaw citizens in the Choctaw roll until they got the
division of the tribes completed.

One new child was added to the old Choctaw card before it was transferred to
the new Chickasaw card. This was Samuel T, enrolled in July 1901, reported as
9 months old. Because of the usual time delay between recording and
enrollment, it is not exactly clear when Samuel was born, but probably in late
1900 or early 1901. But these names were not transferred to a new Chickasaw
card until October 1902. So births during that time would not have been
included.

And the final 1902 card names were the only ones included on the "final" roll
in 1903. Others were added at each census date or as births were reported,
and new enrollments approved. Going by the dates on the enrollment for Vaughn
Cochran, born in 1903, each new birth apparently had to be reported, then
processed in several stages and finally approved by the Secretary of the
Interior. The period of time from birth to approval was around 2 years.

Vaughn was born 10 Feb 1903. Application for his citizenship enrollment was
