Seems to have married a vaquero, with whom she went into the boarding business. There is a "rest of the story" sticking in my mind from somewhere, which is that when Ann died, her distraught parents painted "GTT" [Gone to Texas] on their wagon and invited Jones to come along with them to Brazoria. Or was it the other way around? Had it not been for the Comanches, Kiowas, and Cheyenne, and the fact that dry-land farming was no good west of the 100th parallel, emigration to Texas might have depopulated the older, cottoned-out parts of Dixie worse than it did. -- James Jones, Ancestry Messaging to Orville Boyd Jenkins, 13 August 2017 -------------------------- -------------------------- Jones Connally Birth Sep 7, 1825 Death Jan 11, 1902 Spouse Mary Ellen Terry Connally (1844 - 1932) Children: Arizona Clements (1859 - ____) Amanda Connally Smith (1872 - 1946) Thomas Terry Connally (1877 - 1963) Bertha Connally Moore (1878 - 1963) Rose Connally Staton (1884 - 1946) Lila Connally McKay (1886 - 1967) Burial Eddy Cemetery, Falls County, Texas Created by couchpotato Aug 12, 2005 -- Find A Grave Memorial #11522517, http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=11522517 --------------------------
