Notes for Joseph Abraham DIXON

Nadene Snyder provided me with marriage details and information on Evaline's
husband:
On 14 December 1856 when Susan 'Evaline' was 21, she married Joseph Abraham
DIXON, son of Joseph DIXON & Julia UNKNOWN, in Washington County, Illinois.
Born on 14 August 1833 in New York. Joseph Abraham died in Sterling Twp.
Hodgeman County, Kansas, on 14 March 1910; he was 76.

His surname is spelled Dickson on his marriage license, but a family genealogy
spells it Dixon.

The child Lula is reported under this name in genealogies as well as records.
One Barnett researcher with whom I have worked on this family, reports her
name as Lola. I note that her brother Frank (Francis) had a daughter who was
reported in the census as Lolo, possibly meant to be Lola. In 1900 Lula is
still in the household, but has recently married David Lundry.

those reportred by family genealogist Nadene Snyder. Giving only the years,
the grave reports birth in 1836, not 1833, and death in 1909 instead of 1910.
This may indicate the stone was prepared at the time of Evaline's death in

Notes for Lois Marie DODSON

Lois Marie Dodson is reported as the wife of Henry Durward McSwain in two
family genealogies, and is the sole wife. These genealogies provide no
documentation. I have not found any documentation of Lois as Henry's wife,
but have found many documents and records confirming his wife as Leona V, but
I have not discovered her maiden name. In searching for further information
about Lois Dodson, I have found only the 1910 census of her, in Elk City,
Oklahoma, the home of the McSwain family. She is only 4 years old here.
