Notes for Mary Elizabeth FOSTER

Mary Elizabeth is the daughter of Elizabeth Gentry Sorey, who was married
before she married Isaac Sorey. A couple of genealogies record Mary's surname
as Foster. In the 1860 census, it appears more like Fosler, as there is no
cross on the consonant. Supporting evidence indicates that Elizabeth's first
husband was named Foster. In the 1860 census, Elizabeth's parents are living
in Cooke County, Texas, and in their household is a 7-year-old Mary Foster.

Notes for Thomas FOSTER

It is possible the name of Elizabeth Gentry's husband was Thomas. We know the
surname was Foster. Another researcher found a marriage record in the right
location with a date close to what would match other dates for the family. In
July 2011 Alisa K Hardman left in a note on my genealogy at Ancestry.com.

"There is a record of a marriage in Sevier County, Arkansas of Thomas Foster,
age 23, to Elishebeth Gentry, age 21 on 5 Oct 1854."
-- Alisa K Hardman, comment on Genealogy, 27 July 2011

This is the right county. From other information about Elizabeth and her
family, we would expect she got married in either Clark County or Sevier
County, Arkansas. We know her daughter's name is Mary Elizabeth Foster. But
the date of birth for Mary Elizabeth from family reports in genealogies is 2
July 1853, 15 months before the date of this marriage record. This is, of
course, possible, but very unusual in those days. I have not found the
marriage record myself for further examination.

Robert was divorced from his first wife Lucinda in 1865, but the divorce was

they went to Illinois to marry in April 1865.

Fowler, Edgar W M 16 Son TX AL AL

This census rpeorts the Edgar was only 1 years old in 1880, but his grave
gives his date of birth as 26 July 1876. This appears to be the date in error
due to poor family memory or incorrect earlier recording. His parents would
not have confused 1 year with 4 years, surely.

"East Point is a city southwest of the neighborhoods of Atlanta in Fulton
County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a
population of 33,712.[3] The city is named for being at the opposite end of
the former Atlanta & West Point Railroad from West Point, Georgia. The name
East Point derives from the fact that it is the place where the Atlanta & West
Point Railroad ends in the east, just as West Point, Georgia, is the place
where the rail line ends in the west."
