One of Joseph's descendants, David Howell Green (1824-1863) is reported in Family Tree DNA in the same Y-DNA12 marker group as Meshack W Green (1720-1799). These are listed in the Family Tree Geen-Greene DNA Project under R1b1a2a1a1b3c, as relatives of Thomas F and Winifred (Seybourne) Green, St Marys, Maryland. -- Family Tree DNA , https://www.familytreedna.com/public/Green/default.aspx?section=ycolorized The parents of Joseph Green have not been confirmed. The parents of Meshack W Green, likewise, have not been discovered. Thus their connection to Thomas F Green is not known. Another member of this kinship group, named Thomas Norton Green, born about 1500, shares the R-L2 haplogroup of DNA with Meshack W Green in this same Y-DNA12 kinship group. These two are the only ones of this haplogroup who are reported in this list of relatives of Thomas F and Winifred (Seybourne) Green. David Howell Green has a different haplogroup, R-M269. ---------------------- Capt Joseph Greene Birth Feb 18, 1726 Providence County, Rhode Island Death Sep 1771 Served under Capt Corbin's Militia, Rutherford (orig. Joseph died before the 1880 census, when we find Sarah Green as the head of the household, with only some of her children. The household includes her married daughter Patience J and her husband George G McSwain, listed as part of the same family. Additionally, as a separate family in the same household is James Green, whom I would expect to be also a child of Sarah and Joseph. But I do not have earlier information on a son named James, who at age 26 in this census, should have been born in about 1854, two years before Patience. In the 1860 census, when Patience appears as the oldest child at age 4 (born abt 1856).

Dates are uncertain for many events in this lineage in this era. It seems that Shadrack Green's first wife Mary Cage died around 1801 or 1802. The gap between the birth of Anselom Green in 1801 and Lavina Green in 1803 is one indicator of the death of Mary and Shadrack's remarriage to Martha Jones.
