Her son Reid Butler III reported to me that she actually died in Metairie,
Louisiana, where she had been in East Jefferson Hospital in where she had been
taken from the nursing home where she was living in LaPlace. Her whole family
was with her in the hospital before she passed on.

-----------------
You listed My Mother as dying in Laplace, LA and although the records show it
as that way my Mother died at East Jefferson Hospital which is in Metairie, LA
on April 13, 2002 which is 3 days before her 69th birthday. They had sent
[her] there from the Nursing Home she had been living in which was located in
Laplace, LA but she lived about a week maybe 10 days before she passed.

In fact she was struggling and was suffering so that on the Day she died I got
there early to talk to her (she was unconscious) and told her it was okay if
she was ready to go we would miss her but we would be okay as well. It was one
of the hardest things I've ever done. About 2 Hrs later after the rest of our
family arrived and told that we loved her she passed.

Robert M. Hamilton
Birth Aug. 14, 1854 Cuthbert, Randolph County, Georgia
Death Feb. 12, 1930 White Oak Bluff, Cleveland County, Arkansas

-- CLEVELAND COUNTY HERALD, CLEVELAND COUNTY ARKANSAS ---- February 19, 1930
ROBERT M. HAMILTON
Robert M. Hamilton of Whiteoak township, died at his home late Thursday [14
February 1930] after an illness of several weeks. The immediate cause of his
death was pneumonia. He had been suffering for some time from a heart
affection which weakened him to such an extent that he sank rapidly after he
was stricken. He was the son of the late Rev. M.S. Hamilton and was born at
Cuthbert, Georgia on August 14, 1854. He came with his parents to Arkansas six
years later and has made his home in this county since. He united with the
Methodist Church when a small boy and in early manhood entered the Ministry of
his church, holding local preacher's orders for a number of years. He was
married in 1888 to Miss Sallie I. McSwain who survives him. Funeral services
were conducted at Mt. Carmel Church Friday afternoon [15 February 1930] in
charge of the Revs. L.T. Rogers, pastor and A.W. Hamilton of Rison. Burial was
at the Mt. Carmel cemetery. He is survived by his wife; two sons, G.M. and Lon
Hamilton of the Mt. Carmel community; two daughters, Mrs. A.A. Ryburn of
Calmer and Mrs. Roscoe Word of this city, three brothers, J.W. Hamilton of
near Rison and L.P. and M.M. Hamilton both of Pine Bluff; two sisters, Mrs.
Ida Good of Farmer's Branch, Texas, and Mrs. Ellen Cason of Pine Bluff.

-------------------------------

In the obituary included above in the Find A Grave memorial, it says the death
occurred on the previous Thursday and the funeral on Friday. The date of
death would be 14 February 1930 and burial on 15 February 1930. But the
memorialist reports the date of death as 12 February, which would be Tuesday.
I have seen no transcriptoin of the graves in this cemetery nor a photo of
Robert's gravestone.

The obituary states that Robert moved with his parents to Arkansas in 1860.
They were in White Oak Township of Jefferson County before the September 1860
census enumeration. His father's obituary says that they moved in 1859.

This obituary says that Robert and Sallie married in 1888. A genealogy
reports an exact date of 2 September 1883. The generalogy has no
documentation, and lacks many other details. However, it seems to reflect
family knowledge, including full names of their children. So it may have the
correct marriage date. Another genealogy also has the same marriage date.
The 1900 census reported they had been married 13 years, which would make it
about 1887, matching the obituary report.

Robert's mother's name was Sarah (Sallie) E Hamilton.

Ann Elizabeth "Annaliza" Ham Gregory
Birth 1856 Rowan County, Kentucky, USA
Death May 21, 1886 Rowan County, Kentucky, USA

Ann Elizabeth Ham, who went by the nickname Annaliza, was the daughter of
Fielding Ham and Sabina Thompson. Annaliza married John B. Gregory about 1875
and birthed five children, one of which was stillborn and unnamed. She died
just over a year after the birth of James Henry Gregory, her fourth child.
She was barely age 30.

She is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, according to her great grand daughter
Avanelle White. Her grave is unmarked. Avanelle had intended to have her
mother, Della Gregory, identify the exact location before her death, but she
died in 2005 before she could make the trip to the Cemetery. With Della's
death, no one left alive today knows precisely where Annaliza is buried, only
that she is in Pine Grove in an unmarked grave.

Caroline stepped in to care for her sister's children after her death in 1886.
She married John B Gregory and lived with him and cared for her sister's
children until her death. She is buried in Enix-Sloan Cemetery in an unmarked
grave. Reportedly she is not buried with her husband, but on the other side
of the cemetery. No one knows exactly where. The last person who knew where
she was buried was Della White, who died in 2005 before she could show her
daughter where.

Gardner, Mary J Mother-in-law F W 90 Widow NC NC NC [abt 1930]

The age of the child named Olivia here matches Della in 1910. This may be
only incidental, since Della is described as a daughter and Olivia is
described as a daughter-in-law (wife of Edgar). The grandchildren would be
the children of Edgar and Olivia. The 1920 name Rivia matches Murtle M in
1910.

Donald Beam's genealogy of the Hamricks reports Allen's wife's name as Tursey
Mitilda Gardner.
-- Donald Beam,
http://awtc.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=dwbeam&id=I17508

Tursey appears to be a nickname (affectionate form) of the name Terza or
Tirza, a form of Teresa. The entry in the 1920 census was probably supposed
to be Tirza, but was written as Tiza. SHe is referred to in 1910 as Tilda, a
short form of Matilda. Allen's death certificate gives her name as Matildia
Hamrick.

We find Tirza Matilda's mother Mary J Gardner living with them in 1920.

Thompson matches William T in 1870. Next door are Monroe and Hannah McSwain
who were living in Allen's Household in 1870. His wife appears to be a
different person from the Hannah of 1870, since the name (Jane) and the age
(27 instead of 35) are different.

1880 Federal Census, Cleveland County, North Carolina, 3 June, Double Shoals
(Township 9), District 73 (Ancestry.com transcribes as 72), page1A, Hse #2,
Fam #3

We find out from the Hamrick Data Pages how this Monroe McSwain is related to
Allen Dillard Hamrick and Susannah McSwain. The following family group is
reported in the Hamrick information. You will find Thomas Bridges (b 1796)
and his wife Salena Bridges in my database. Susannah is this Thomas' sister.
So she is the great-aunt of James Monroe McSwain, listed in the 1870 and 1880
census as Monroe.
