One posting by and unidentified grandchild provides a list of the children of Mack and Susie. So the person writing the post had apparently included his/her mother in the list also. We don't know which one is the mother they refer to. The one listed as Max seems to match Herman. James Kenneth matches Kenneth from the 1930 and 1940 census. And James apparently had a younger brother also called by the nickname for James, Jimmy. Other family sources tell us James was called Boodler (pronounced at least by some as Booler). Edith McSwain Jenkins reports that the one named "Booler" farmed the piece of land across Refuge Road form their house when her family lived in Ethel, at the gate of the White River Refuge. Edna in the 1940 census appears to be Sue in the Facebook family list. Herman's obituary confirms that his full name was Herman Max Horton. This obituary also reports two brothers who died before Max, Bennie and James. Bennie does not appear in the above list. He was stillborn on 8 Dec 1933. The obit also names survining brothers as Haynes, Jimmie, Tommie and Floyd. Mack's daughter Geraldine's and son James Kenneth's Social Security records give us their father's first name Richard. He has otherwise been known only as R M or Mack.
