In the 1880 census, Samuel M Keith is reported as 3 years old. This would mean he was born in 1876 or 1877. One Keith genealogy reports his birthday as June 1877. Steve Miller reports it as the exact date of 12 Mar 1877. The 1900 census reports him born in January 1879, and his age is consistent with that at 21. I will report the birth as the exact date given by Miller in his Keith genealogy. 1880 Federal Census, Whitfield County, Georgia, 9 June, Fincher (Militia District 1035), District 197, page 13A, Hse #109, Fam #110 Keith, John B W M 35 Farmer GA GA SC Keith, Mary C W F 28 Wife Keeping House GA GA SC Keith, Samuel M W M 3 GA GA GA Steve Miller reports his middle name as Miller, while I found that on his memorial on Find a Grave it is Monroe. Since James and Mary have been married only about 5 years, Gene and Joe would be the children of the 1st wife. Since Welsey's father is reported born in Texas, he may be Wesley an adopted son of the first wife from her first marriage. We are told that James and Mary have been married 5 years. Letha is reported as 5 years old, but the way they rounded numbers and were very inexact with ages in those days, and with the gap in ages from the first two children, Letha is likely the first child of this marriage. 1930 Federal Census, Garvin County, Oklahoma, 14 April, Brady Township, District 3, page 7A, Hse #111, Fam #112 Wright, Jim W Head Rents M W 79 Married at age 20 AL AL AL Farm Foreman Wright, Mary L Wife F W 54 Married at age 19 AL AL AL No Occup Wright, Arthur E Son M W 21 OK AL AL Wright, Florence Dau F W 18 Widow OK AL AL Launderer Johnson, Tomie Grandson M W 1 OK OK OK Jim died some time between 1930 and 1940. 1940 Federal Census, Garvin County, Oklahoma, 24 April, Elmore Township, District 25-8, Page 13A, Hse #234, Rents $2, No Farm Wright, Mary L Head F W 69 Widow Grade 8 b Alabama Rural Garvin Co in 1935 [b abt 1871] Wright, Arthur L Son M W 31 Single Grade 4 b Oklahoma Rural Garvin Co in 1935 Day Farm Laborer [b abt 1909]
