years older than Lucinda, and birth in South Carolina. Columbus Black appears
to be a boarder in the home. Note also the black family named Loughridge
enumerated as members of the family and household. These would likely be
former slaves who are now free, but chose to stay. The woman Hannah appears
to be a widow working as a Domestic Servant now, supporting her three children.

Notes for David Crockett LOVE

By 1860, David is a 15-year old in the home of his parents in Redfork Township
of Desha County.

1860 Federal Census, Desha County, Arkansas, 18 July, Redfork Township, page
71 (141), Hse/Fam #268
Isaac Love 38 M Planter $8440 Real Estate $12,000 Personal born Tennessee
Virginia Love 30 F born Arkansas David Love 15 M born Arkansas

Between 1860 and 1870, his parents moved west along the Arkansas River, and
are found in Dardanelle, Yell County, Arkansas. David is not with them.
David stayed behind and we find his enumerated as a single man, 25 years old,
in Bogy Township, Jefferson County (near Pine Bluff), a bit southwest of his
previous home. David is a merchant, boarding with the family of Richmond
Williams, who has taken in several other boarders.

Richmond is a Farmer, the female listed next appears to be his wife, but is
listed as Cook. This may be a brother and sister running a boarding house on
their farm. But there is a 5-year-old girl with a different surname, also
born in Georgia as the Williams couple. Another Farmer is boarding with them
and a second merchant.

Before 1880, David has moved west to join his parents near Dardanelle. He is
enumerated in his own household in Wilson Township of Yell County. He is now
married to Anna E, and they have 4 children under 10. They have named one
child after each of David's parents, W Isaac (age 4) and M Virginia (age 6).

has reported his father born in SC and Tennessee. In Isaac's own census
reports, he was reported as born in Georgia or Tennessee.

Notes for Isaac Mason LOVE

Isaac Love married Virginia Dumond, daughter of Louis B Dumont and Félicité
(Felicity) Caillot Dumont. Their first listing in the census was in 1850,
when they have been married about 5 years.

Patrick Noonan, in his genealogy on the old Ancestry World Tree reported that
Virginia Dumond married Isaac Love about 1849 in Arkansas County. But Patrick
does not report their oldest child, born in 1846. (While David could be a
child from a previous marriage of Isaac, this does not appear to be the case.)
In the 1850 census they are living in Desha County, so his report that they
married in Arkansas County could be wrong.

It may be that they were married in Arkansas County (at Arkansas Post on the
north side of the river, where Virginia was living with her mother in 1840)
though they lived and farmed in neighboring Desha County. Virginia's brother
Caliste purchased public land in 1850, and his plot of 60 acres is designated
as being in both Arkansas County and Desha County.

1850 Federal Census, Desha County, Arkansas, 1 November, Chester Township,
page 71 (141), Hse/Fam #268
Isaac Love 25 M Farmer born Georgia
Virginia Love 22 F born Arkansas
David Love 4 M born Arkansas [b abt 1846]

By 1860, they are still in Desha County, living in Redfork Township.

1860 Federal Census, Desha County, Arkansas, 18 July, Redfork Township, page
71 (141), Hse/Fam #268
Isaac Love 38 M Planter $8440 Real Estate $12,000 Personal born Tennessee

Francis Love 2 F born Arkansas
John B West Jr 24 M Overseer b Alabama
John B West Sr 53 M Planter $25,000 Real Estate $18,000 Personal b North
Carolina

Note the change of birth state in this report for Isaac, in 1850 Georgia, now
Tennessee. I also see that David is now reported as 15, 11 years older than
in 1850, even though the census is earlier in the year. He should be either 9
or 10, depending on the birth month, or should have already been 5 in 1850.
Meanwhile, Virginia has lost year, gaining only 8 years of age in less than 10
years. Isaac has gained 13 years during this period! These age variations
throughout these censuses are always a reminder of the difference in cultural
worldview at that period, compared to our modern minutial focus on details as
objective information.

Before the next census, Isaac and Virginia moved to the western part of
Arkansas, buying land in Yell County, near Dardanelle, on the Arkansas River.
A John L Dumond is with them. This must be a nephew of Virginia, but the age
13 does not match John L who is the son of Pierre Dumond and Mary Pinot, who
should be 23 or 24 in 1870. It could be the same person, and the age was
written down wrong by the enumerator. John L (probably John Louis) had lost
both his parents when he was young.

1870 Federal Census, Yell County, Arkansas, 5 July, Gally Rock Township, PO

Isaac's age here matches that in 1850. We get a bit more information also on
the children, with middle initials given. Isaac and Virginia have a new
daughter, Lucinda F. Also, Frances' name is now spelled in the expected
female form. David is out on his own at this time, and we find him enumerated
as a single man working as a merchant in Jefferson County (Pine Bluff area).

Mary's Find a Grave memorial reports she was born in Chandler, Oklahoma, when
her father qwas a banker there. Her short obit does not report her place of
birth. But she reported to Social Security (see above) that she was born in
Oklahoma City. It seems quite likely that she was born in Oklahoma City, even
though the family lived in Chandler when she was born. Lincoln County
neighbors Oklahoma county. Today Chandler is a part of the Oklahoma City
Population Area.

Mary Love Wornom

of her growing-up years in Chandler, Oklahoma. On 21 Aug 1942 she married
Lawrence Dale Wornom of Chandler, and they lived for awhile in California.
They had two children: John and Katy and four grandchildren, and they, along
