Angeles County) in 1954 and 1955.  There may be other City Directory records
we have not discovered.

Graveside services for longtime Cromwell resident Cora Belle Mathews were held
at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Little Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen
Funeral Home.

Rev. Chris Stinnett officiated the services.

Mathews died Monday, July 15, 2002 at Wewoka Nursing Center at the age of 99.

She was born to J.W. Lovin and Dora (Shipp) Lovin on Feb. 15, 1903 in Dabrey,
Ark.

Mathews had lived in Cromwell since 1962, and was a homemaker, and worked at
the Dodson Cafeteria in Oklahoma City.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Cromwell.

Mathews is survived by two daughters, Patricia Harper, Cromwell, and Bernice
Wilson, Tecumseh; one brother, Clyde Lovin, Konawa; three grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren.

Thanks to the page from the Family Bible, we known Dora married Alfred C
Bradley 11 May 1918.  But Alferd was killed in the war, and in 1920, she is
reported as a widow, living in her parents' home again.  She married W R Toler
29 September 1920.  But in 1930 and 1940, she is designated as Divorced.  On 1
June 1943 she married P A DeMoss.  Her name at death was DeMoss.  Alfred is
the only husband whose memorial on FAG is linked to hers.

Note that this census reports John's middle initial as W.  this is the only
place I have found this.  In his WWI registration in 1918, John reported his
name as French John Lovin.  His reported birth date of 30 October 1883 matches
the date in the 1900 census.  His memorial on Find a Grave also includes a
news story from 1916 mentioning his brother Oswell, confirming that this is
the same John Lovin.  John signs the registration card with his full name. 
The memorial includes a photo of his grave, which has his name as French J
Lovin.
