Lula's father George Maddox's first wife Hettie Neal died in 1877, and is
buried in their home area in Franklin County, Illinois. About a year after
Hettie's death, George married Viola Marion Bailey, also in Frankliin County.

George A Maddox
Spouse Name Viola Manion Bailey
Marriage 27 Nov 1888 Franklin County
County Court Records, Film # 1005304 - 1005310

George and Viola moved to Arkansas, and that is where Lula was born in
September 1890. Viola died at childbirth or shortly thereafter, because
George married Francis (Frances?) P Moore in Sherrill, Jeffrerson County,
Arkansas. This is the county where Pine Bluff is located.

Lula is the only child listed in 1900 that was reported born in Arkansas. The
next three were born in Missouri. This means that after Lula's birth and his
marriage to Fannie, George moved his family to Missouri. The next three
children reported in the 1910 census were born in Missouri.

Lula is reported in Arkansas in the 1910 census, with her father and his
fourth wife Mary Crow McClain Maddox.

Hope this helps. Laura Little was sister to William Franklin Little, my
grandfather. The 1880 Federal Census in Franklin County, Illinois will show
