Hamida's husband Steven Gregory posted this announcement and tribute when they
found out Hamida had cancer.

-------------------
Everyone, I wanted to share some bad news because so many of you know my wife,
Hamida. About a month ago Hamida was diagnosed (and confirmed) to have a
horrible disease for which there is no treatment or cure. The disease is CJD
(google it). She has declined rapidly and only has a few days (maybe a week)
to live. Thankfully she is in no pain and is at home in her San Diego condo
that she dearly loves.

I don't know what to say, but those who know her will understand what a great
loss this is for not just me but her hundreds of friends around the world. She
made friends everywhere she traveled and she traveled the globe. The last
weeks have seen dozens of friends and family visit her. I knew she touched
many lives but I did not know how many. She loved people and they loved her.

For the last 2 years, she was working at a local community college in the ESL
program. She met people from all over the world and loved every day of her
job. Her fluency in 7 languages made her very valuable in helping students
with English. But she did much more, for dozens of student she urged them to
not get discouraged, to do their best and make the most of this great country
that they are in. She fully believes that with hard work and education you can
do anything if you really want to.

She is my wife, best friend, confidante, pal, travel buddy, advisor, and so
much more. She gave me the world and then said: "let's see and enjoy the
world". And that we did, but we just ran out of time to see it all. I will
miss her every day for the rest of my life.

I will close now but if you can please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

She is an amazing person.

Regards to you all,
Steve (Hamida's Lucky Husband)

passed away there.

Marriage 25 Dec 1899 Morris County, Texas, USA

------------------
A couple of grave lists comment that her maiden name was Williamson, making
Mallonee a first married name. But neither had the name of her Mallonee
husband. One also reported that Della Williamson was the wife of Ichem Warner
Jenkins. It may be that two persons and households have been combined or
confused. I have found no information on this individual named Ichem Warner
Jenkins. It is a different Jenkins family. Other sources report his name as
Isom.

I found an Ichem Jenkins with wife Della in Hill County, Texas, in 1910 with
two children mentioned in the notes on one Dalton Cemetery list. Searches
yielded some related records for them in other locations. Ichem is reported
born in Georgia, which could relate to the family of Joseph Sanford Jenkins,
and his wife Della was reported born in Alabama. I have found no connection
between Ichem Jenkins and the known members of the lineage of Joseph Sanford
Jenkins. No such name appears in any of the related genealogies for J S
Jenkins' family.

I saw Della's grave in Dalton Cemetery on a visit for a Jenkins family reunion
in 2009. Her grave has no birth date and says she died in 1918.

Notes for Anne MALONE

A family genealogy has Ann's last name (presumably her Maiden name) as
Clements, and has associated this Anne with a marriage record of Thomas
Mullins to Anne Clements:
U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900
Thomas Mullins
Birth Place England
Birth Year 1714
Spouse Name Ann Malone
(No marriage date in this record)

A genealogy reports the family of Thomas Mullins and Anne Clements as follows:
Anne Clements
Birth 1717 in Surry [Surrey], North Carolina
Marriage 1740 to Thomas Mullins Granville, Granville, North Carolina
Thomas Mullins
Birth 1714 in St George Parish, Kent, England, Death 1760 in Granville,
Granville, North Carolina
-- Ancestry Trees, Burgess,
http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/9735530/person/-589744440

Another reports the children of Thomas and Ann.

Children of Thomas Mullins and Anne Malone are:

Thomas Mullins, b. 19 Jul 1741, Albemarle Parish, Surry [Surrey]Co, VA, d.
Bet. 1800 - 1801.
John Mullins, b. 11 Aug 1743, Albermarle Parish, Surry County, Colony of VA.,
d. 09 Apr 1784, Crooked Creek, NC.
Jeremiah Mullins, b. 1748, Granville Co., NC, d. 13 Sep 1836, Jones Co., GA.
Clement Mullins, b. 1750, Granville Co., NC, d. 04 Jul 1833, Copiah Co., MS.
Nathaniel Mullins, b. 2 Dec 1753, Granville County (later Franklin County),
North Carolina, d. 08 Jul 1840, Macon Co., Alabama.
Malone Mullins, b. 1754, Bute County (now Franklin County), North Carolina.

Note that one of the children is named Clement. This supports the surname
Clements in the maternal line. I found one genealogy that reports only one
child of Thomas and Ann, a son named Clement. This genealogy reports that the
father of Anne Malone is James Clements! But there is no explanation, note or
source that would explain why someone named Clements has a daughter named
surnamed Malone. No mother for Anne is reported in his genealogy.

Anne Malone
Birth 1717 in Surry [Surrey], North Carolina
Death Unknown
Parents Jeremiah Clement b 1620, No Mother
Spouse Thomas Mullins 1714-1760
Son Clement Mullins 1750 - 1833
-- Ancestry Trees, For Sadie,
http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/1559890/person/-1787517378?ssrc=&ftm=1

Another genealogy, also providing no independent source information, reports
one more child for this couple:

Thomas II Mullins 1741 - 1800
John Mullins 1743 - 1784
Jeremiah Mullins 1748 - 1836
Clement Mullins 1750 - 1833
Nathaniel Mullins 1753 - 1840 or 1846
Malone Mullins 1756 - 1841
Bud Mullins 1759 - 1856
-- Atkinson, Wilson, Neel Families,
http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/4502886/person/-1582777896?ssrc=&ftm=1

I found only one source reporting any death information for Anne. It is only
the location.
Death Albermarle Parish, Surry [Surrey] Co., Virginia

A couple of (again unsourced) gnealogies report that Anne married Thomas in
1840 and died in 1844. If this date is correct, this would mean there was
another wife as the mother of Clement, Nathaniel, Malone and Bud. I have not
yet found any public records to clarify this family. No genealogy I have
found has another wife. It is likely that the 1844 death date is wrong.

Notes for Amy MAMIE

Amy, along with other Chickasaw Colberts, were living in Choctaw Nation, Indian
Territory in 1855 and were registered on that roll. Members of this family
later moved to Chickasaw Nation and re-registered, transferring their previous
Choctaw registrations to their new Chickasaw registrations, consistent with
the previous registrations of this line of Colberts in the Chickasaw Nation in
Mississippi, noted in the Notes and Facts for various individuals in this
genealogy.

The Woodlief genealogy, among others, seems to provide additional information
from famly sources for which no source is provided, such as the month and
place of death.

Notes for Giles W MANSFIELD

Giles married twice. His first wife Harriet Stanley died in 1827, and he
remarried.

Children reported from the first marriage are:
Mary Ann b 1817
George S b 1818
John W b 1820
Emily H b 8 October 1821
Harriet b 1827

Mary Ann is the one I follow as she married George C Terry in my family line.
His second wife is reported in some genealogies as Elizabeth Mary Deming, One
genealogy, by Ed Deming, reports that Elizabeth and Giles married on 29
December 1852. If this is right, then she died before 1860.

Giles has no wife in the censuses of 1850, 1860 and 1870. Another genealogy
is somewhat confused, giving the name of Harriet Stanley for both wives, but
the date of the second marriage is 16 June 1828. This would match a
remarriage after the death of the first wife Harriet. Three children are
shown from this marriage:
Theodore b 1829
Henry b 1831
Joseph b 1833

In the 1850 census living among the Terrys is a widow Jane Mansfield, who
appears to be a sister-in-law of Mary Ann, Jane Mansfield, age 54 (born about
1808) in South Carolina. The Mansfield genealogies I have seen report Mary
Ann as the oldest child, born in 1817. This Jane who married a Mansfield was
born in 1808, which would indicate her husband was likely born 1805-8.

This could have been a cousin of Mary Ann's. Perhaps one of her father Giles'
brothers moved his family to Georgia and Mary Ann went down there with them.
Giles and his wife, as well as some of their children, died in Connecticut,
where they and Mary Ann were born.

Notes for Mary Ann MANSFIELD

The 1850 census is consistent with the reports that Mary Ann Mansfield died in
1846. The Edmund West Family Data Collection reports that Mary Ann died in
1846 in Georgia. James K Stanley, in his Stanley genealogy in Ancestry World
Tree (http://awtc.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=jamkstan&id=I3532)
reports the death date as April 1846 and only the state of Georgia. Because
of family residence in Murray County I assume this is where Mary Ann died.

In 1850 in Murray County, Georgia, her husband George is a widow. We find
George with two daughters, living in the house of his father, and one daughter
living with George's sister.

1850 Census, Murray County, Georgia, 13 August, page 32, House/Family #1590
George Terry 39 M Farmer SC [born abt 1811]
Nancy Terry 13 F SC [born abt 1837]
Mary A Terry 8 F GA Idiot [born abt 1842]

In the household of George's sister, next door to George, is his older
daughter Jane Elizabeth, listed as Elizabeth Terry.

1850 Census, Murray County, Georgia, 13 August, page 32, House/Family #1591
Thomas Carder 45 M Farmer SC [born abt 1805]
Nancy [Terry] Carder 37 F SC [born abt 1813]
Elizabeth Terry 14 F SC [born abt 1826] (daughter of George C and Mary Ann
Mansfield)

Though Mansfield family sources report that Mary died in 1846, and the 1850
census supports this, a puzzling entry in a Murray County marriage record
compilation reports a record of marriage between George C Terry and Mary
Mansfield on the date 26 April 1851. I do not find another George C Terry or
Mary Mansfield to match this, but this conflicts with the other information on
Mary and George. This date could be an entry error in the transcriptoin from
the original marriage license book.
