------------------- Mildred Marie Green DAVIS - Funeral services for Mildred Marie Green were held 2 p.m. Monday, Dec 12, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Davis with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment followed at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis. Mildred was born on Aug 10, 1921, in Tom, Okla., to the late Marshall Beedie and Ammie Davis (Jones) Martin. She died Thursday, Dec 8, 2011, in Ardmore at the age of 90 years 3 months and 28 days. Mildred and Raymond Alfred Green were married on Aug 4, 1939 in Tom. He preceded her in death on Oct 24, 1995. Others preceding her in death include an infant daughter, two brothers and one sister. Mildred was a stay at home mom who worked hard to make sure her family was taken care of. In her later years, she enjoyed gardening, visiting with her friends and being with her pets. Family was her life. Mildred found great joy in cooking for her family, especially those big holiday meals. Although her days were quite busy, she always made time for watching her soap operas. On Oct. 1, 1995, Mildred became a baptized member of the First Baptist Church of Davis. Survivors include two daughters, Jeral Walker and husband, Weldon of Euless, Texas, and Janet Van Buskirk and husband, Lyndal of Ringling; one son, Ronnie Green and wife, Debbie of Davis; brother, Dorsey Martin of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Jewel Stone of Tom and Jean Cassera of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; seven greatgreat grandchildren; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. -- Newspaper and date unknown, courtesy of Beverly Hill, via email from Marion Marion Mixon to Orville Boyd Jenkins, 16 April 2016 -------------------
Some sources list Narcissa with the masculine form of the name, Narcussus.
The 1930 Parlee and her husband have one child, a son, G H, matching Grover in the 1920 census. In 1930 Parlee has been married for about 20 years, based on the ages and the age at first marriage for each of them. The census names her husband CD, but other sources tell us he is Charles E, son of Edward R McSwain. So this would be the same wife as in the 1920 census, despite the difference in the names. 1930 Federal Census, Nevada County, Arkansas, 11 April, Alabama Township, District 1, page 6B, Hse #72, Fam #74 McSwain, C D Head M W 39 First married at age 20 AR AR AR Farm Laborer McSwain, Parlee Wife F W 38 First married at age 17 AR AR AR McSwain, Mildred Wife F W 2 AR AR AR Next door is GH McSwain whose age and proximity indicates he was their first child, though Holden does not report him. Settlement began in the 1870s when Georgia native H.H. Peaster bought 160 acres (0.65 km2) of land and built a house. The community that developed near the site of his home was originally called Freemont; in 1885 the name was changed to Peasterville. Throughout the 20th century, Peaster has served area farmers as a school and church community. During the mid-1920s the town's population grew to approximately 300, but this was soon followed by a steep decline after the Great Depression. From 1975 to 1990, Peaster had around 80 residents.
