In the 1850 census, she was reported as age 8, born abt 1842. In 1880, the oldest child there is Jonathan, age 12 years. Catherine's age is 34, which is close to the figure Mari gives. If Catherine was 22 when they married it was about 12 years before the census. Ages and birth years will vary in the census, so even with Jonathan already 12, that is not a problem. However, in this census you will note that Israel is reported as 76 years old. This means going by the ages Mari has, Catherine had been married about 12 years, but Israel had been married about 10! Either Israel would be 78 or so, or Mari has the age at time of marriage wrong. Assuming the enumerator got the facts right, then Mr Keen was born in Oklahoma, while Delora was born in Texas. Since Mary and her younger sister were both born in California, we can assume that Delora met McKeen and they married in California. Thomas Green had meanwhile also moved to California, where he married widow McKeen sometime before the 1930 census. Further investigation uncovered a genealogy that reports Delora's maiden name as Black, and provides information on their father Alonzo Thomas McKeen, born in New Mexico, not California. So the enumarator in 1930 got the state wrong. The California Death index confirms Thomas' birth in New Mexico, as well as his death in 1978, incdicates he and Delora were divorced, after which she married Thomas G Green. Mary Patricia Mckenzie daughter of Robert Mckenzie and Mary Ann (McManus) Mckenzie was born March 17, 1878 in Livingston County. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lenexa, Kansas. Survivors are three sons Robert Boyd, Overland Park, Russell Boyd, Amarillo, Texas and Harold Boyd, Kansas City, two sisters, Mrs. John Feeney and Mrs. Agnes Grant, Chillicothe, four brothers, Robert Mckenzie, Wheeling, Joe Mckenzie, Meadville, Hugh Mckenzie, Omaha, Nebraska and Leo Mckenzie, Hannibal, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
