Notes for Rellie MOORE

In the 1910 census James Martin's first wife Rennie was reported as 28 years
old, and they had been married for 6 years. Their marriage record found later
(see below) reports they had actually been married about 5 1/2 years, married
in January 1905. Their two daughters were 4 years and 1 year old.

1910 Federal Census, Murray County, Georgia, 7 April, District 8, Enumeration

Lance, Delta Dau F W 4 Single GA GA GA [b abt 1906]
Lance, Ollie Dau F W 1 Single GA GA GA [b abt 1909]

Rennie died about 1916 or 1917. In her daughter Ollie's Social Security
records, Ollie's mother is reported as Rellie Moore, giving us her maiden name
as well as another form of her first name. Confirmation of the apparently
correct form of her mother's name came when a search under Rellie Moore
brought up a marriage record. Rellie may be a nickname for Cinderella. One
wonders how the enumerator heard Rennie for Rellie.

A family researcher commented on this record in Ancestry.com that the family

"James Martin Lance rather than James Martin. The original data on the record
is incorrect."
-- Robert Thompson, Ancestry Comments, 1920 census record for James Martin

Based on information from my research, a Find a Grave memorial manager
established a memorial for Rellie. The place of death, however, was reported
as Gilmer County, while family residence information seems to indicate it was
more likely Pickens County. They were living in Pickens County in 1918 when
James registered for the draft. James was still there in 1920 when the census
was taken. Years of birth and death are approximate but very close, based on
other family factors. James married Bonnie Cowart in September 1918.

enumerated in the census on 5 September, we know it was betweem this date and
the end of the year.

Raymond Moody Moore
Birth 4 Nov 1886 Henderson, Rusk, Texas
Father Seaton Moore
Mother Victora Anderson
SSN 451605373
Feb 1955 Name listed as RAYMOND MOODY MOORE

Raymond reports here that his father's name was Seaton Moore. On his death
certificate, his informant for the death certificate, his wife, reports the
name as L M Moore. His father died when he was a child. It may be his wife
did not get the name right for some reason. It seems more likely that Raymond
would have known his father's name. His mother remarried when he was about 4
years old.

I was able to locate Seaton and Victoria's marriage record and confirm that
his name was indeed Seaton.

Arlena went by the nickname Lena. In her son James' Social Security records,
he reports his mother's nmae as Lena J Morgan, giving us also her middle

In the 1910 census, Arlena is enumerated with her father and her stepmother.
Note that the younger sister Mollie is listed first, before her older sister
Arlena, a common way to indicate children of a different mother.
