Notes for Delilah Ann MORGAN

Turner was her second married name. Delila was first married to Moses Morgan
in Alabama in 1868.

Moses T Stapp
License issued 18 December 1868
Marriage 22 December 1868 St Clair, Alabama, USA

St Clair Marriage Book, page 254

In the 1880 census she was reported as the wife of W J Turner, and in the
household Aaron Step was reported as WJ's stepson. In her 1900 household is
Aaron Stapp (Stepp, later found as Stepp, the common spelling), her son by her
first marriage.

S King is reported as the stepdaughter of W J Turner. But her age indicates
she is not the daughter of D A Turner, Aaron's mother, so she must be the
daughter of W J's first wife by her first marriage.

The index record of her marriage to J N Lyghtle indicates that she was 13
years older than her groom.

Betty is Houston's second wife. This census tells us that Houston married
Betty about 1902. Betty, then, is the mother of Mollie, but Arlena's mother
was the first wife, whom I presume died. Arlena was born about 1900, before
April if her age is correct here.

In both 1910 and 1920, there is another Morgan family living a couple of
houses from Houston and his family. We see that both Houston and George W
Morgan were born in Alabama, but the birth states for their parents are
different.

Notes for Mollie Isabel MORGAN

This family information from Houston Green, a descendant of Oscar, indicated
that the wife of Oscar Landon Green was Mollie Isabel Morgan. Houston's
hand-written information and charts had the Morgan lineage back three
generations. Houston also provided photos of the graves of family members.
Birth and death dates for Oscar Landon and Mollie Isabel come from the
gravestone photos Houston provides from Spring Creek Cemetery in Parker
County, Texas.

Houston also lacks the information on the Infant Daughter found in the Curtis
Cemetery, b/d 1926. But he lists another Infant Daughter b 1911 and no death
date (but must have been before 1920, since this child is not in the census).

1910 Federal Census, Parker County, Texas, 26 April, Justice Precinct 6,

The marriage information informs us that this Betty B is the mother of Mollie,
but Arlena's mother was the first wife, whom I presume died. We can say that
Houston married Betty about 1902. Mollie's birth date from family information
and grave dates was 12 December 1904. Arlena was born about 1900, before
April if her age is correct here.

Houston and Betty are still living in the same part of Parker County for the
1920 census.

This is the first appearance with the family of the son Henry. Being 18 and
thus born in about 1902, this would be a son of Houston Morgan's first wife.
But where was he in 1910?

In 1930 we find the census record of Mollie and her husband Oscar Landon

I searched unsuccessfully for marriage information for Mollie and Oscar Landon

recorded in Texas Marriage Records:
