The same thing was done on Ola's entry. This is odd, unless the enumerator meant to indicate they were born in Oklahoma Territory. But this is not likely, since Hettie was born also before the establishment of Oklahoma Territory in 1890 (or 1889), and Indian Territory was not merged with Oklahoma Territory and other lands to become Oklahoma until September 1907, the year before daughter Ollie was born. In 1918, Robert registered for the draft in Spiro, Oklahoma. He reported his contact as Mrs Pearlee Mosley in Spiro. It is not clear who this was. William Robert Mosley married Pearlee some time around 1915, after his dovorce form his first wife, Hetti Terry. Robert and Hettie's last child Woodrow was born in May 1915. In 1920, the census reported their oldest child as Gladys, age 4 years and 3 months. But that would mean she was born about September, maybe October, 1915, depending on how faithfully the enumerator followed the techincal census date of 1 January. That would mean they had to marry about January 1915. This was while Hettie was pregnant with their last child. Robert and Pearlee were living in Spiro, Oklahoma, where he and Hattie had lived. Robert was working in nearby Ft Smith, Arkansas. He reported his wife's name as Pearlee Mosley. In the 1920 census, her name was reported simply as Lee. In 1920 they were living in Oklahoma City. That means they moved to Oklahoma City some time after September 1918, and before January 1920. But Patia is still living in 1880, when she was enumerated under the name of Patience as widowed head of the household, with three grown children still at home with her. So the identification is definite. This makes it appear that her name Patia or Pacia in other enumerations was short for Patience. But her name on the grave is Patia Martha Moss. Since we find Patia/Patience in the 1880 census, it seems that Nancy in the 1870 census is also Patience. In 1880, Patia is listed by the name Patience. However, her grave reports her full name as Patia Martha Moss. The enumerator may have misunderstood the name or overcorrected it to what he thought was the full form. Robert died some time after the 1870 census. Notice that Patience is reported here as 73 years old, but in 1870 Patia was 69, and in 1860 54. Households named Moss are living nearby, one next door, head of household Anderson, age 33. 1880 Federal Census, Pickens County, Georgia, 16 June, Talking Rock District, District 162, page 26, Hse #229, Fam #231 Childers, Patience W F 73 At Home Cannot read or write SC SC SC Childers, Jane W M 38 Dau Keeping House Cannot read or write SC SC SC Childers, Reuben W M 39 Son farmer Cannot read or write SC SC SC Childers, Mary W F 37 Dau Keeping House SC SC SC Patience is reported here as 73 years old, but in 1870 Patia's age was reported as 69, and in 1860 she was 54.
