Several genealogies that include this family reprot that Johnnie was born in May 1886 and died in 1944 or before 1968. However, none of these offer any documention or explain any sources, and appear to be copying each other. It is not likely he was born in 1886, however, since his brother George, one of two children reported in the household in 1900, is reported as born in April 1886. Johnnie does not appear in the 1900 census with this family, So if he was born between 1880 and 1900, he died or moved out of the home before the 1900 census.

I have some question about the identity of Nancy A and Margaret A. These entries come from a One World Tree (anonymous ) which gives the same year of birth for both. A second source in Ancestry.com Personal Trees, cites the first source for the birth date, and adds death dates. The dates are again questionable because the second source gives the same death date, 1896, for both women! 1850 Federal Census, Cherokee County, Georgia, 15 October, Division 15, page 479, Hse #1068, Family #1073 John M Mullins 53 M Farmer South Carolina Francis A Mullins 51 F South Carolina Margaret A Mullins 24 F Georgia b abt 1826 1870 Federal Census, Pickens County, Georgia, 11 July, Truckwheel, PO Jasper, page 73, Hse #573, Fam #573 Mullins, John 73 M W Farmer $150 Real Estate $100 Personal b South Carolina Mullins, Francis 71 F W Keeping House North Carolina Mullins, Margaret 46 F W Assisting Keeping House Georgia
The date of birth given for Margaret P Mullins in a seemingly reliable genealogy in in Ancestry World Tree is Feb 1875. However, this date matches the birth date given in the 1900 census for the person named Amelia. I would have thought this Amelia was was Minty A, rather than Margaret P, but there is a two-year discrepancy. Further, I found Mintie in Whitfield County, Gerogia, working as a houskeeper in the home of Sterling and Harriett Collum, with age and birth date that match previous reports of Mintie. Mintie is lsited in teh 1910 census as Mintie Ann, and is living with her widowed father Lafayette. They are the olny two persons in the household. So it appears that by age 37, Mintie had not married. The genealogy provides a date of month with month and year for Minty A as Jul 1872. The age of 25 in 1900 matches Margaret P Mullins at age 5 in the 1880 census. So the name Amelia of 1900 seems to refer to the same person as Margaret P in 1880. Thus I am assigning the birth date of Feb 1875, as the Ancestry World Tree genealogy does.
