In the 1850 census, Jams and Lucinda are living with his parents. This census
reports James as 18 years old, which matches other reports of his age, with
birth about 1832. But there is a 5-year-old child here, so I wonder if the
enumerator made an error in the age. At 5 years old, this child would have
been born about 1845. But at that time James would have only been 13 years
old. I doubt he was married at that time. Even his older wife Lucinda would
have been only 15 then. But at lest one genealogy reports she was born in
1826, not 1830 as reported here. Lucinda died about a year after this census.

Nagy M Inez (Bel-Carl Jwlrs) r 327 Alameda de las Pulgas

Yolanda's mother Inez Nagy's Jewelry store appears to be named for two towns
in the county, Belmont and San Carlos. Yolanda was a student at Belmont High
School.

Yolanda's listing in the Belmont High School yearbook of 1958 notes that one
of her activities that year was marriage.

Notes for NAHKIAPE

In the 1900 census, it is reported that Emmet Cox has been married 17 years but
his wife only 8. This wife is Cynthia Ann Parker, also know as Naunocca, and
reported here as Nah Mack ir. This would seem to mean Emmet was married
again, and indeed, other family sources report that Cynthia Ann was Emmet's
second wife. Cynthia Ann and Emmet married in January 1893, which would mean
that Nellie and Mary are not children of this marriage.

Nellie is the daughter of Emmet's first wife, reported to be named Napiape, or
Nahkiape. Mary seems to be the daughter of Cynthia Ann from a previous
marriage to a chief named Quo-hadi (Quohaddy). In the 1900 census, Emmet is
reported to have been married 17 years, while Nah mack ir (Cynthia Ann) is
reported as married only 8 years. This indicates a first marriage for Emmet.
In 1910, both Emmet and Cynthia Ann are reported to be in their second
marriage. This latter matches the scanty reports of Cynthia Ann's first
marriage.

Emmet and Naunocca's first child Norah was born in 1894 (though this census
and her grave report 1895, due perhaps to errors of some kind). She was
reported as 2 years old in the 1896 census, and as 5 years old in the June
1900 census.

A search turned up a genealogy reporting some very basic information on
Emmet's first wife, including the name and birth and death dates of her
father, as well as Emmet's picture. More details on their daughter Nell were
also found there.
