So there is room for error, but otherwise this date would seem definitive. Then how could the twins have been born in April 1929, more than a year after George's death? I have not yet found any definitive record of the children's birth dates.

This would place her birth in 1928, not 1929. This resolves the conflict of their birth reported over a year after their father died. It is quite possible that the remembered birth date was a year later than the actual. I have seen many cases of this in other family lineages. I have found no Arkansas birth record for the birth of any of the Teal children, which is also strange. The problem still remains with Troy, reported in the 1940 census as 9 years old, and thus born in 1930 or 1931.
