Jessie McPherson Jenkins, daughter of Martha Aretha Tucker McPherson Jenkins, has full information on the Tuckers, from family records. George had four wives, R A Bostwick, Laura Henderson, Mary Roselee Weaver and Anne Stivers. I found the 1880 census record for George, and this revealed that his first wife, R A Bostwick, had been married before to a man name Parker. The 1880 census listing for George W and R A Tucker is strange. She is listed first, but the House and Family numbers are on George's line. Each of them is reported with the marital status of Married. She is Keeping House and George is a Farmer. Neither she nor George have a designation as Head or any other relation, but the others in the household are reported in their relation to R A, not George! The last child, reported as a son of R A, tells us this is her second marriage, revealing the previous married name of Parker. This was Taylor Parker, whom she married in 1871. 1880 Federal Census, Cross County, Arkansas, 9 June, Bedford Township, District 65, page 7, Hse #62, Fam #65 Tucker, R A W F 26 Married [to George] Keeps House AR KY England [born abt 1854] [Not designatetd as Head, but relations are reported in reference to her.] Tucker, George W M 25 Married [to R A] Farmer AR KY TN [born abt 1855] [No relationsihp reported] Bostwick, Wm W M 18 Brother [of R A] Farm Laborer AR KY England [born abt 1862] Tucker, G T [G F] W M 2 Son [Of R A & George] AR AR AR Tucker, J M W M 6mos born Dec 1879 Son [Of R A & George] AR AR AR Parker, J T W M 5 Son [Of R A] AR AR AR "George & Roseanna Bostwick Tucker's children are: 1) G. It's not in my notes, but I'm sure I've heard he was struck by lightning, causing his death. He was in the 1880 census, Bedford twp, Cross Co. AR in the home of his father George W. Even so we note that two of Mary's children have died along the way. Some of the Weaver family are also living with them, including Mary's sister Sarah. George's birth date here is one year earlier than family source records indicate. 1900 Federal Census, Faulkner County, Arkansas, 19 June, Cypress Township, District 27, page 9A, Hse #178, Fam #182 Tucker, George W Head W M Apr 1854 46 Married 17 years AR KY TN Farmer Owns Tucker, Mary R Wife W F Oct 1854 45 Married 17 years 12 children/9 living MS MS MS Tucker, Ida C Dau W F Aug 1883 16 Single AR AR MS Tucker, William W Son W M Feb 1885 15 AR AR MS Farm Laborer Tucker, Bertha J Dau W F Oct 1886 13 AR AR MS Tucker, Caleb W Son W M Aug 1888 11 AR AR MS Tucker, Jesse F Son W M Mar 1890 10 AR AR MS Tucker, Mary E Dau W F Sept 1891 8 AR AR MS Tucker, Nora M Dau W F May 1893 7 AR AR MS Mahony, Ednora M Step-Dau W F Oct 1877 22 Single AR Ireland MS School Teacher Weaver, Sarah J Sister-in-Law W F Feb 1850 50 Single AR AR MS The Beard Genealogy provides more details about George and Mary's children.
