An early transcription of Dan's marriage record reports him as T T Tucker.
Later in a report as his wife's marriage record, his name is rendered F T
Tucker, which matches his name as Fean T Tucker in the 1920 census. In the
1940 census, however, he is reported as Dan, which could have been just a
nickname. I am not familiar with Fean, but it may be an old Irish name. It
is clearly spelled Fean in the clear, even handwriting of the 1920 census
taker.

It's not in my notes, but I'm sure I've heard he was struck by lightning,
causing his death. He was in the 1880 census, Bedford twp, Cross Co. AR in
the home of his father George W. Tucker, shown as G. T. Tucker, age 2.
2) J. M. Tucker, born Dec 6 1879 in Cross Co. AR; in 1880 census in Bedford

His memorial on Find a Grave reports him as George F Tucker. The dates on the
grave match those reported by family sources for G T Tucker. The 1880 census
has a script T with no bar across the stem to indicate it was meant to be an
F. The Find a Grave memorial unfortunately includes no photo of the
gravestone itself.

Notes for George Washington TUCKER

The Tucker-Swink genealogy gives only the birth date and the death date, with
no other details. This genealogy had the date of birth for George Washington
Tucker as 1865. Tucker family information, however, records his birth as 16
April 1855. He was born in Wynne, Cross County, Arkansas. Jessie McPherson
Jenkins, daughter of Martha Aretha Tucker McPherson Jenkins, has full
information on the Tuckers, from family records.

George had four wives, R A Bostwick, Laura Henderson, Mary Roselee Weaver and
Anne Stivers. I found the 1880 census record for George, and this revealed
that his first wife, R A Bostwick, had been married before to a man name
Parker.

The 1880 census listing for George W and R A Tucker is strange. She is listed
first, but the House and Family numbers are on George's line. Each of them is
reported with the marital status of Married. She is Keeping House and George
is a Farmer. Neither she nor George have a designation as Head or any other
relation, but the others in the household are reported in their relation to R
A, not George!

The last child, reported as a son of R A, tells us this is her second
marriage, revealing the previous married name of Parker. This was Taylor
Parker, whom she married in 1871.

By 1900, R A has died and George has married Mary R Weaver, and they have a
house full of kids. Even so we note that two of Mary's children have died
along the way. Some of the Weaver family are also living with them, including
Mary's sister Sarah. George's birth date here is one year earlier than family
source records indicate.

In the 1910 census they are still in the Cypress Township of Faulkner County,
Arkansas. This census confirms the indication we had from 1900 that Mary was
previously married. This is reported as the 2nd marriage for both George and
Mary.

"My great grandfather George Washington Tucker and his family. George and his
family lived at Mount Carmel where the church is today. He donated the land
many years ago for the church which still exist today. The little girl on the
front row left is Renna Henderson. She married Luther G Presley who wrote the
song 'When the Saints Go Marching In.' My grandfather and grandmother Walter
and Emma Tucker are at top right. She has her hand on his shoulder. Walter
was the janitor at Vilonia High School for many years. I’m sure some of
your older guys and gals remember."
