A brief comment by a family researcher gave us the name of Lula Strange's
husband and their marriage date, with what appears to be a report that they wre
later divorced.

"[Lula Strange] m abt 1925 OK (William Joseph Wagner Sr. 1895-1947) Div[orced]
-- R D Tucker, Ancestry Comment on this genelaogy 22 Sep 2014

William and Lula moved to Arizona, where their son William Joseph Jr was born.
They were back in Oklahoma in 1930, where William was working as a machinst in
a Steel Company mill inTulsa.

According to the Tucker comment above, Wililam and Lula were divorced and
William did not die until 1947. But in the 1940 census, Lula is reported as a
widow, and has returned back home with her son to Rogers County, Oklahoma,
where she is teaching school. She may have reported herself as widowed to
avoid the embarassment of saying she had been divorced. No record for William
has been found after the 1930 census.

William is in Portland for the 1940 census, remarried and with a 10-year-old
daughter (or step-daughter). The census says the daughter Barbara Wagner is
10 years old. That would make her born about 1930. But in April 1930 William
was still married to Lula.
