Notes
- Siward (Seward) was one of those Normans established early in Norfolk. It is not known who who parents were. He is established in Litcham but his line does not continue separately. The Le Strange story oforigins continued after Siward's grandson Durannus, son of Ralph I LeStrange, obtained lands from Alan Fitz Flaad in Launditch and Greenhow. This line continued as Le Stranges also into the 1300s. A genealogy is presented on the Le Strange Website
The Le strange Website, however, makes a vague statement that does not connect with the lineage information of the Siward line, that the "House of le Strange had been fused with Siward."

Another of these early Stranges (Extraneus) associated with Hunstanton was Bernard, who became a Crusader and was appointed the Governor of Asia Minor, apparently never returning to Europe.
