However, the commonly reported marriage date for Mars Mareen and Susannah is 1673, after the birth date normally given for Samuel, 1667. The birth year of Mary Bouth Duvall is reported as 1872. If Samuel's birth date is correct, Mareen's 1st wife Mary Bouth, not his second wife Susannah Brashears, would have been his mother. "Mareen Duvall; ... Of his children, ... Capt. -------------------- David Dycus, b 1834, Rutherford, NC, lived in Whitfield, GA I have recently found my Dycus ancestors after finding the 1900 census record listing my great-grandmother Lula Dycus. Her father was James Larkin Dycus and his father was Davd Dycus. I have seen many Ancestry.com trees listing David's middle name as William but have no source information for that middle name. Instead, I DO see sources for a middle initial of A, which seems to match a story posted in one tree about Civil War service in Savannah. Other census, voting, legal, etc. records for David A Dycus put him in the same Vernell, Red Clay, neighborhood as my David Dycus. -- James Wood, Ancestry Message Board, 7 February 2014, https://www.ancestry.com/boards/surnames.dycus/185/mb.ashx -------------------- California, County Birth and Death Records Lula Gryder Age 74, Birth 20 March 1886 Georgia Residence 103 S Hinkley St, Stockton, San Jouaqin County, California Occupation Maintenance, 3.5 years, Sharp General Military Depot, SS #557-30-2669 Father's Name Jim Dycus, born Georgia Mother's Name Sarah Black, born Georgia Informant Daisy Gryder, Stockton, California Death 26 Mar 1960 San Jouaquin General Hospital, French Camp, San Joaquin, California, United States Cause of Death Transitional Cell Carcinoma of Bladder, Operation Performed, Autopsy Performed Burial 29 March 1960 Park View Cemetery, by Frisble and Warren, Inc Filed 28 March 1960
