Notes

• A Tennessee marriage record informs us that Mary E Woods (usually Wood in other sources) married Marvel Green in Roane County, Tennessee, in East Tennessee.  The date of 1854 correlates with the birth of the last child of Marvel's first wife Elizabeth Dicus.

  Elizabeth's daughter Martha S Green was born in about 1854.  No exact birth date has been found.  This also enables us to say that Elizabeth died in Tennessee, possibly in Roane County.  But for the 1850 census, Elizabeth and Marvel wre living in Warren County, Tennessee, in Middle Tennessee,, about 3 couties west of Roane County
  
  By 1859 Mary and Marvel had moved to Hardin County, Missouri, where their son James was born, according to his obituary.  However, the maker of James' memorial on Find a Grave reported that James was born in St Francois County, Missouri, where the family lived by 1860 census time.  James Whitson Green was born in December 1859, according to records.  The 1860 and 1870 censuses both report James' birth state as Missouri.
