  • Glynn's Social Security record gives some insight on his father's name.  His father is reported here as Tatum C Cowart.  Yet the 1900 and 1910 census reports his father as Glenn T Cowart.  The name is reported in numerous city directories in later life as Glynn T Cowart.  Glynn's wife in city directories from about 1948 is Helen W Cowart.

    Glynn Jr's mother is reported as Myrtie Barnes (or perhaps this is a typo for Myrtle).  In census from 1920 to 1940, Tatum C Cowart's wife is named Myrtle.  A grave is also found in the name of Tatum C Barnes in Jasper, Georgia, Cemetery, where other members of this family are buried.  The enumerations for 1920 and 1930 include a son Glenn age 5 in 1920 and 15 in 1930.
