• "G.W. Yandell was my great grandfather. ... Rachel had a son, John, when she married George and they had two children; William Isom, and Mary Ellen.  My g-mother was Amanda Yandell, the youngest of Mary Bunker's (Huffstuttler) children.  She had three; Nathan, Charles, and Amanda.  After Mary died, George married Sally Smithwick and they had one child; Oma Jeanette.  Sally Smithwick died and George married Ruth Hickenbottom.  I think George died around 1905 and supposedly he and all four wives are buried in the Hartman, Arkansas cemetery (unmarked)."

  William's mother died in January 1890.  His father remarried, but William's stepmother Mary E Huffstuttler Bunker died before the 1900 census.  William and his siblings were enumerated in the home of their widowed father in the 1900 census.
