Notes
- Cousin and neighbor Edith McSwain Jenkins knew this family, who lived across the north field from her house when she was growing up in Ethel, Arkansas. Edith says she remembers Johnny Horton had three children, Helen, about 2 years older than her brother George, who was born in 1943; Sydney, a year ahead of Edith in school, so born about 1947, and another son, whoe name she cannot remember, who was a year older than Sydney, or born about 1946.
