America Elizabeth Chapman was the daughter of James Richard Chapman and Emily Jemima Quaid. She was born in Texas. America married Jasper Newton Selby on December 10, 1901, in Indian Territory, which is now Regan, Johnston County, OK. America and Jasper had five daughters: Ada, Vina, Verna, Myrtle, and Hellen; and two sons, Orbie and Henry.
