  Both Elmer and Reiker (Reka) were reported as born in 1896, but in different months!  The entry for Reka first had age 2, then it was changed to age 4.  Her year was likely 1898.  Years of birth are often wrong in the 1900 census.  Reka's Social Security records confirm 1898 as the year of birth, and also corrects the month, reporting the birth date as 15 Mar 1898.

  Her Social Security records report her birth place as Acorn (in Polk County), Arkansas, but her record in the 1900 census, when she was 2 years old, report she was born in Indian Territory before they moved to Polk County, Arkansas.  I would seem to me likely that the earlier record would be correct.
  
  It is sometimes the case that family memory adjusts dates and places over the years, and later reports do not reference earrlier records.  In this case Reka herself must have reported this locatoi as her birth place, and it was the earliest place she could have remembered.  And it is is also possible that the enumerator could have gotten confused about which child was the first born in Arkansas.
  
  "I know that Mollie's maiden name was Walton, because I sent for my grandmother, Reka Nana Gaddy's Social Security application.  It shows her parents as Steve Gaddy and Mollie Walton.  Reka was born in Acorn, Polk Co AR."
