    When they lived in Illinois, James was a postmaster in Boyd, Illinois.  Lacking other indicators to the contrary, this appears to be the same James T Poston.

    That means they moved to Arkansas only around 1900 or later.  Birth information can be gleaned from the 1900 and 1910 censuses.  In the 1900 census Ethel is recognizable on the family headstone in Chute Cemetery as E M Poston, born 1895, died 1905.  The child T Poston, reported on the headstone as born in 1900, was born after the 1900 census.

    The 1910 census reports Tom age 9 and born in Illinois.  Later children were born after the move to Arkansas.  In the 1910 cwensus, James is reported born in Arkansas.  However, iin his 1930 census record, his birth states was reported as Illinois, and so was his mother's, instead of Indiana.

    The family moved to Prairie Township, near the White River.  It appears they lived in or near St Charles.  The location on the header informatoin for this page reprots it as St Charles, but information on the Road or locaoitn names on the side margins indicates only one family in the page was actually in "St Charles town."  The rest were noted as in "Prairie Township."  Chute Cemetery, where James and Tena are buried with many of their family, is about 5 miles south of St Charles in eastern Prairie Township.

    Note that it is reported that Mathel has had 9 children and one has died.  This matches the gravestone indicating the date of death of Ethel in 1905.
