  Nellie's Social Security record reports her name was listed in January 1943 as Nellie Marie Alford.  The card, however, was signed by her husband Wallace J Alford.  Lackinig a marriage record, we may use the initial date of the Social Security record in her married name, January 1943.  They may have married earlier.

  Alford, Nellie - Died 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 1993, at Pointe Coupee General Hospital, New Roads. She was 82, a native of Idabelle [Idabel], Okla., and a resident of Livonia. She was a retired grocery store owner. Visiting at Niland's Funeral Home, Livonia, 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday, and 8 to 9:45 a.m. Monday. Religious services at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Livonia, at 10 a.m. Monday…. Burial in church cemetery. Survived by a sister-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Wallace J. Alford.
  
  [The correction above to the name of of Nellie's home town is incorrect. The town was named Idabel; it is the county seat of McCurtain County, Oklahoma.  I am not aware of any Isabella, Oklahoma.  The obit had the right name, just the wrong spelling.]
