--------------------
The following burial on Find a Grave is identified in many genealogies as the grave of the son of Green A Owens and Mary Wallace (Agerton), named in genealogies as James Alexander Ross Owens. Note, however, that the date of birth on the gravestone for this burial is 1850. This is impossible for the son of Greena and Mary. He was reported as their first child at age 1 in the 1860 census. All later censuses report his age matching birth in 1857 to 1861.
This appears to be a differenty perosn in the same clan, with a different birth date. I note that in their marriage record the 1880 census, James' wife is named Sarah E (Creel) Owens, not Nancy Matilda as for the spouse memorial linked with this memorial on Find a Grave for James Ross Owens. In 1900-1920 James R Owen and his wife Nancie M appear in censuses in Jefferson County, Alabama. This would be teh Nancy Matilda Carr that several genealogies report as the wife of James A R Owen(s), son of Greena nd Mary (Wallace) Owen(s).
Meanwhile James Alexander Ross Owens and his wife Sarah Creel were enumerated in Walker County, Alabama, during this same period. Both couples are in Jefferson County for the 1900 census.
