Jack Fredrick McSwain, 64, 1112 Hepzibah Church Road, Crouse, died April 14, 2008.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Beulah Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in Westview Gardens in Bessemer City.
A native of Gaston County, he was retired as owner of J and F Machine Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Victor and Elsie Black McSwain, and a son, Michael Todd McSwain.
Survivors include wife Diane Lovelace McSwain of the home; son Bryan Keith McSwain of Crouse; daughter Cindy Lovelace of Dallas; sisters Kathleen Kinley, Pauline Watson and Betty Farris, all of Bessemer City, and Shelva Russ of Mooresville; brothers Jerome McSwain of Cherryville and Robert McSwain of Leland and grandsons Brandon Lovelace of Cramerton and Aaron McSwain of Crouse.
Memorials may be made to Mount Beulah Baptist Church, 5306 Dallas-Cherryville Highway, Bessemer City, NC 28016 or to Hospice of Gaston County, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28053.

Mr. Jack Fredrick McSwain, 64, of Crouse, NC, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008 his residence after a long courageous battle with a malignant brain tumor.
Burial followed in Westview Gardens in Bessemer City.
A native of Gaston Co., NC, Mr. McSwain was the baby of nine children and retired owner of J&F Machine Company. He loved his vacation home on Lake James. He never met a stranger and he always had a joke ready to make someone laugh. He was also a former member of the Gastonia Moose Lodge 1303.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Victor and Elsie Black McSwain; 1 son, Michael Todd McSwain; and 2 brothers, Paul and Junior McSwain.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane Lovelace McSwain of the home; 1 son, Bryan Keith McSwain of Crouse; 1 daughter, Cindy Lovelace and husband Robert of Dallas; 4 sisters, Kathleen Kinley, Pauline Watson and Betty Farris, all of Bessemer City and Shelva Russ of Mooresville; 2 brothers, Jerome McSwain of Cherryville and Robert McSwain of Leland, NC; and 2 grandsons, Brandon Lovelace of Cramerton and his fiancée Catie Costa, and Aaron McSwain of Crouse.
