Born in 1793 to Robert Gregory and Mary Ann Young in Union County, South Carolina.
She married John Beard in 1813 and had three children -- Susanna Telford Beard (1821-1893), Jane Patterson Beard (1824-1872) and Robert J. Franklin Beard (1828-1869).
John Beard died in January 1831, and in August 1831 Lettice remarried to John S. Norman, Sr. in Union, South Carolina. John Norman was widowed and the father of
eight children. He died in South Carolina in 1842, and Lettice moved to Marshall County, Mississippi, near her adult children and lived out her life there.
