  Allen's birth date on his Social Security records had the birth year as 1929.  But note that the year on his grave marker is 1930.  The earlier date in Social Security is the probably more reliable since that number came from Allen himself.  And there is a discrepancy in the date of death also.  The SS date is 15 April, but from his California death record and the gravestone report the date of death as April 11.  The 15th was likely the date of burial.  No obituary has been found.
