Robert Virgil Sain Obituary
Robert Virgil Sain, son of Mrs Lex Sain of Lindsay died Monday, December 7, 1987, in his Phoenix home. He was 68.
Services were held at 1 pm on Thursday, December 10, 1987 in the Mercer Mortuary's Chapel in the Garden.
He moved to Arizona in 1942 from his native Oklahoma and worked for several auto dealerships before starting his own business. Childress Buick conferred on him its Salesmaster Award for top salesmanship in 1963 and 1964.
He is survived by his wife, Merle; four daughters, Alexa Nichols, Georgia Fife, Leatrice Murray and Kathy; a son Robert; his mother Georgie; two sisters; a brother; 15 grandchildren; and a great grandchild.

"Robert Virgil Sain, 68, of Phoenix, an automobile salesman, died Dec 7, 1987, atson of Mrs Lex Sain of Lindsay died Monday, December 7, 1987, at his residence. He was born in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife, Merle; daughters, Alexa G Nichols, Georgia G Fife, Leatrice J Murray and Kathy E; son Robert J; mother Georgia; two sisters; a brother; 15 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Services will be held at 1 pm today at Mercer Mortuary, Chapel in the Garden, 1541 E Thomas Road."

On his grave, his middle name is spelled Virgel. Many records have only his initial V. His obituary above has the middle name as Virgil, the more common spelling. There is a marker for him and his wife in the same plot, where she was buried and her stone added in 2016.
