Notes
- One marriage record cited by some genealogies for Jacob randall and Phoebe Conger givesd his birth date as 1760. This contradicts other details of this couple and their children, and cannot fit the family timeline. The compilers must have got two records confused in tehir compilaiton. The original image of this specific record is not available.

Jacob Randall
Birth 1760 NJ
Spouse Name: Phebe Conger
Spouse Birth Year: 1740
There was no marriage date or place in this record. This record must have mixed information for two similarly named individuals. There were many Jacob Randalls and Phoebe Congers. The information below on generational names reports that Jacob's son was Silas, reported to be born about 1785, born when his mother was about 45. Possible but unusual.
Other information also reports Phoebe's husband Jacob as born in 1730. there may be another generation involved here. According to this his wife was 20 years younger than him; lacking other details, this is suspicious. Details are incomplete at this stage.
Other sources report Jacob's birth year as 1730, which is more reasonable given other factors. So many names are duplicated in every generation in children of brotrhers that it becomes confusing. Brothers in each generation often had sevral children of the same names. The birth date of 1760 probably belongs to another of the many Jacob Randalls.
The Silas Randall who was the son of Phoebe Conger, wife of Jacob Randall, was born in 1785, so his father Jacob Randall would not be the Jacob Randall born in1760, but the one reported by most family genealogies as born in 1730. All genealogies I have found report the father of Silas as being born in 1730.
I got the following family information from a descendant in response to my information about this Jacob's son Martin and grandson Jacob.
"My information indicates that this Jacob R. Randall was born 2 Nov 1799 and died 21 Nov 1889 and he was a Wagon Maker. Additionally he built Pine Grove Methodist Church in Boiling Springs, NC for which he was given a farm. His wife was Catherine Jane Wells and yes Jacob R. Randall was the brother of Martin May Randall who was my great, great, great grandfather. Martin May Randall and Jacob R. Randall's father was Silas Randall. Jacob R. was perhaps named after his grandfather Jacob Randall who was the first to settle in NC near Kings Mountain on the NC/SC line and was born in New Jersey."
