    Family information from Millard Eldon's Bible were scanned and sent to me by his daughter Judy McSwain Miller.  It is interesting that in the family tree there, Millard Neal's middle name is spelled Neill.  Neill Howry's name is also spelled that way.  It is not clear why the middle name is spelled Neill, or who added the death info and other informaiton for dates after Eldon's death, which looks like the same or similar handwriting.  Judy, in her correspondence, spells it Neal, as we find on his Social Security records, and in his obituary.

    This  information reports that Neal married Nina Mae Blevins on 20 January 1948.  This seems to be correct, since I have found a birth record for two of their children, born in 1949 and 1954.  But on their divorce record the date of marriage is reported as 7 Feb 1952.  I have found no marriage record.

    When I asked Judy about the two marriage dates, she cleared that up with some more background.

    "The marriage record was Millard McSwain and Nina Blevins.  What is probably off is the fact they married in 1949 [1948, according to the Bible; 1st child born Sep 1949], divorced, and remarried.a couple of years later..go figure!  They were married in Texas  both times.  The second marriage was Nina McSwain and Millard McSwain."

    OBITUARY

    Millard Neal McSwain

    McSWAIN, MILLARD NEAL, Passed away on January 21, 2008 at the age of 79. He was born to Eldon & Olive McSwain on September 15, 1928 in Rule, TX.

    He grew up in Goree, TX & graduated from Goree High School in 1946. For many years he was the owner of McSwain Garage, which was an Auto-Truck-Tractor repair shop. In 1967 the family moved from Goree to Garland, TX & has remained in this area. Millard retired from Collins/Rockwell in 1986. After that his part-time transmission business became full-time & he retired again in 2000. He moved to East Tawakoni in 1999, where he lived until his death.

    Millard was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Marion McSwain; & step-sister, Ruby Lou Lane. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Wilson; 2 sons, Lonnie McSwain & wife, Marsha, Billy McSwain & wife, Paula;
    one daughter, Judy McSwain Miller & husband, James;
    5 grandchildren, Greg, Ashley, Brian, Amanda, & Jessica;
    2 great grandsons & 2 great granddaughters;
    1 sister, Eva McSwain Pechacek & many other relatives & friends that he dearly loved.

    Millard was a good man that was loved by all and will be missed.

    Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, Eastgate Funeral Home, 6-8 p.m. with services on Thursday, January 24, 2008, 2:00 p.m., Eastgate Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow, Friday, 1 p.m., Goree, TX.
