It appears the surname was actually spelled Garot. In the 1920 census, after Catherine and Jean have moved near DeWitt, Arkansas, enumerated on the next page is a Garot household. The head of household reports the same birth place information as Catherine, born in Beligum, with both parents born in Belgium. Adolph Garot appears to be Catherine's brother. Catherine name her first son Leon Adolph. Both Catherine and Adolph had sons named Victor. Garots were still in DeWitt in the late 20th century.

From the ages of Catherine's children in the 1920 census, we can see they moved to Arkansas County, Arkansas, after 1903, when their last son Victor was born. Her daughter Theresa is also enumerated in the area in 1920 with her husband Francis Mouton. Their daughter Helen is also in the Mouton household.
The birth places of Adolph's children tell us about when they moved to Arkansas. The first son Victor was born in Louisiana and the next child Otto was born in Arkansas in abt 1902. The next son Otto was born in Arkansas about 1912. This matches the timeline of the Girerd family, who moved to Arkansas after the birth of their last son Victor in about 1910. Finding the 1910 census for Adolph narrowed this down further, Adolph and his family were enumerated in Arkansas County, Arkansas in the 1910 census, Their youngest child is Aline, age 4, born in Louisiana. So they moved to LaGrue, Arkansas County, between 1906 and early 1910.
