  James became disabled in some way and began drawing a military pension on 2 December 1889.  He died in about early May 1908, since his pension record reports that Mary Jane began drawing a widow's pension on 7 May 1908.

  Note that the death certifiate reported that she was to be buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Boonville, but the burial was in Degonia Cemetery in Degonia Springs in the same county.  Notes on the Fegoia Cemetery indicate it is also known as the cemetery of the Internatoinal Order of Odd Fellows.
