Notes

The Tennessee marriage records tell us that James had three given names, recording his name as James L D Terry. Genealogies tell us his full name was James Levi David Terry. Several genealogies and sources have his name as only James Levi Terry.

From the 1900 census record, we can tell that James and Phoebe moved to Texas between September 1890 and December 1892. Their daughter Flora's death certificate reports that she was born 1893 in Breckenridge, which is in Stephens County, 3 counties west of Ft Worth. By 1900 they were living in Wise County, just west of Ft Worth.
