• When Bert registered for the WWI draft in September 1918, he and Clarice Terry were already married.  I have not found a marriage record.

  In 1920, we find Bert with his wife Clarice Terry and their 2-year-old son Terry Stanton Lewis in the home of Clarice's parents.  Their entries are mixed up.  The names must have confused the enumerator.  The Lewises are also given the surname of Tery (Terry), even though Burt (Bert) is correctly reported as a Son-in-law.  He put Clarice's married surname Louis (Lewis) as her first name and kept the name Tery for all.  Further he reported their son as a girl.
