Notes
- The 1900 Census in Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory, list Edward with his father's family in Township 4 South Range 4E, District 145, page 27A, Hse/Fam #402
Edward Gregory Son W M Nov 1885 14 TN TN TN Farm Laborer
This is the only place where Edd appears as Edward. The family are agreed that his name was Edd. This census also records Andy as Andrew and Dock as Doctor. Andy's name appears on his birth certificate as Andy. The family and other censuses are agreed that Andy had no other name but Andy. When we see Dock's name written as Doctor, it becomes clear that the enumerator was trying to regularize or standardize the names for these three members of this family.
My mother and aunt tell me that Edd was considered the cook of the family.
In 1910 the census reports Edd living in the household of his brother Tom (G T).

The Gregorys are generally short, stocky and darkhaired. I noticed that in his WWI registration, Edd is described as of Stout build but has blue eyes and light hair. He repored his birth year as 1883, but in his 1942 WWII registration, the date reported is 1885, matching other family and public records, and his gravestone.

In 1942, at age 56, Edd was still single. he never married. He listed his mother as his contact or "nearest relative" and in 1942 his father. I see here also that he reports his father's name as D G Gregory. This is only the second record found that has the initial G for Edd's father Dock Patrick Gregory, the other being one census record. It is not known what the G stands for.
