• Wanda June was called by both names, but also nicknamed "Banty," because she was such a small baby.  I remember when I was a kid, our family would visit them.  We stayed with them sometimes, and sometimes with Grandma and Grandpa Gregory.  I remember Aunt June would make us hot chocolate.  It was always warm and happy in her home.  I always felt welcome and sage in her home, and it was always the same when I was with her in recent visits.
  
  Earl Jones reports her birth date, also found in Gregory family records, courtesy of Loretta Gregory Gay.  But he reports the place as Lindsay, while Loretta reports that Wanda was born in Purdy, south of Lindsay.  My mother Lou Ila Gregory Jenkins took us down to Purdy to the area where they used to live.  The old Depot is still standing there on the road not far from the Purdy Cemetery.

  Wanda Trout passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 85.
  
  Services for Mrs. Trout are set for 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the B.G. Boydston Funeral Home Chapel, located at 308 S.W. 3rd Street in Lindsay, Oklahoma.   Final Obituary
  
  The world became a poorer place and Heaven a richer one when the kind and gentle soul of Wanda June Trout joined her husband, Roy, forever on February 15, 2013 at the age of 85.
  
  Wanda was born on February 20, 1927 in Purdy, Oklahoma to Andy and Alpharetta Gregory. Wanda was raised in Lindsay, Oklahoma and she graduated from Lindsay High School in 1945. She and Roy Trout married August 20, 1946. She and Roy raised their family in Lindsay, then, moved to Carthage, Texas and lived there for eighteen years. They returned to Lindsay in 2006. Before retiring Wanda worked at Clara’s, Casada Jewelry and Mark’s Jewelry, all in Lindsay. She was a member of the Church of Christ and she enjoyed her church activities and reading.
  
  She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Phillips of Ft. Worth, Texas, her son, Lindell Trout of Spring, Texas, two sisters: Loretta Gay and Lou Ila Jenkins, both of Lindsay, three granddaughters: Julie Mahan, Shara Bohr, Kristin Trout Duvall, six great-grandchildren: Amber Bohr, Brittany Bohr, Katie Mahan, Nate Mahan, Cambry Trout and Kylea Duvall and many nieces and nephews.
  
  Wanda’s husband, Roy preceded her in death December 15, 2009. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Andy and Alpharetta Mae Gregory two brothers: Everett Gregory and Alfred Gregory and two sisters: Josephine Hayes and Dessie Spann.
  
  Funeral services for Mrs. Trout are set for ten-thirty a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the B.G. Boydston Funeral Home, located at 308 S.W. Third Street in Lindsay, Oklahoma, with Brandon Johnson of the Lindsay Church of Christ officiating. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
