BLACKSBURG - Ada Louise McSwain Jenkins, 88, formerly of 5199 Jenkins Farm Road, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at Century Care Nursing Home in Shelby, N.C.
A native of Blacksburg, she was the widow of Howard Jenkins and daughter of the late Lewis McSwain and the late Ada Fuller McSwain. She was a retired textile worker and a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in York.
Surviving are two sons, James Jenkins and Lewis Jenkins, both of Blacksburg; two daughters, Shirley Short of Blacksburg and Lois King of Clover; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jason McSwain of Clover.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Ken Lane and Sam Snyder. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ashley Jenkins, Ben King, John King, Kevin Stewart, Alan Robinson, Jimmy Jenkins, J.B. Jenkins, Buddy Mullis and David Wray.
The family is at the home of her son, Lewis Jenkins, 1876 Piedmont Road, Blacksburg. Memorials may be made to Mountain View Baptist Church, 720 Ramah Church Road, York, S.C. 29745. Arrangements by Gordon Mortuary, Blacksburg.
