The actual date was 21 December 2007, and the celebration was held on 29 December 2007, at First Baptist Church, St Charles, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife Myrtle Landreth Dempsey; his sons, Randy Dempsey (Teresa) of McKinney, TX and Wallace Dempsey (Wray Ann) of Little Rock; his grandchildren, Matthew Dempsey, Elizabeth Dempsey-Nutt and Maegan Dempsey; his sister LaVelle Butler of Ethel; his sister-in-law Joyce Dempsey of Bethany, OK.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 11th 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Essex Funeral Home (1405 S Grandview Dr, DeWitt, AR). Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11th 2019 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, August 12th 2019 at the Almyra Cemetery (Almyra, AR 72003, USA).

Obituary:
Arvin Mathew Dempsey, 82, of Almyra passed away August 8, 2019. He was born August 3, 1937 in Ethel to Lenny O'Dell Dempsey and Gladys McSwain Dempsey.
Arvin graduated from St. Charles High School in 1955. He retired from Producers Rice Mill as a shift foreman. Arvin was a member of St. Charles Baptist Church and was a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Annella Poston, and one brother Jack Dempsey.
Arvin is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Myrtle Landreth Dempsey, two sons Randy Dempsey (Teresa) of McKinney, TX and Wallace Dempsey (Wray Ann) of Little Rock; three grandchildren Matthew Dempsey, Elizabeth Dempsey-Nutt, and Maegan Dempsey; one sister LaVelle Butler of Ethel; and one sister-in-law Joyce Dempsey of Bethany, OK.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Sunday, August 11 at Essex Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. August 12 at St. Charles Baptist Church with burial in Almyra Cemetery.
